Smart Play Network is a dynamic, forward thinking play organisation and charity supporting and delivering a range of play services in Scotland.
We seek a highly motivated, organised and responsive individual to join Smart Play Network as the Project Manager for our PlayTalkRead project. This challenging but rewarding post includes overall responsibility for the day-to-day running of the project, staff management, reporting to and liaising with the Scottish Government, budget management managing a fleet of vehicles and the general smooth running of the programme. Our ideal candidate would have a flexible approach to work, be enthusiastic and self-motivated with an upbeat and positive personality and be a great problem solver.
This post will average a 35 hours working week normally Monday to Friday but will require an element of flexibility, including occasional on-call responsibilities at the weekend, and is based in Edinburgh.
The post is fixed-term to March 2021 (subject to funding confirmation) and requires a 3-month probationary period.
An exciting opportunity has arisen within Smart Play Network to join our PlayTalkRead Roadshow team! The post will be offered as a fixed term contract until 31st March 2020. Continuation of this post will be subject to funding. Regular travel delivery across Scotland and development days at the Edinburgh office.
We are seeking a fun and enthusiastic individual to be part of our play worker team to inspire and support parents and carers to interact with their babies and little ones through fun, simple and inexpensive activities. As a key member of the play worker team you will also be responsible for supporting the drivers of our converted vehicles to and from locations across Scotland.
You will be passionate about making a positive impact on families and understand the importance of parent and child relationships. You will have a flexible approach to work, be confident and self-motivated with an upbeat, positive personality and be a strong team player.
Working away from home is an integral part of the role. As part of programme delivery some weekend work will be required, such as attendance at events.
Having the right mind-set, attitude and approach is as important for us as having the right experience and skills.
You will have the option to learn to drive our fleet of large vehicles including: a double-decker bus, converted box van and sensory HGV Lorry. Training will be given during the 6-month probationary period and salary increase will be awarded when training is complete.
Candidates must be over 21 years old, have held a Category B UK driving licence for a minimum of 2 years and have their own car. If you would like to be considered for driver training to drive our larger vehicles you must be over 25 years old.

To support the planning, organising, development and delivery of Smart Play Network’s (SPN) portfolio of training courses. The position is based at in Edinburgh, travel and occasional overnight stays elsewhere in Scotland will be necessary.
The post will be offered as a fixed term contract for until 31st March 2020. Continuation of this post will be decided by the Board of Trustees based on success of the overall training programme and delivery of outcomes.
We seek a highly motivated, organised and strategically thinking individual to join our Senior Management Team. The Operations Manager will work alongside the CEO on the strategic development and functions of the organisation, and play a key role in the development of the organisation’s membership and other services.
This is a part time maternity cover post (21 hours per week). The post will be offered on a fixed term contract ending 30th January 2021 to cover Maternity Leave.
The key tasks and responsibilities of this post as detailed below in the person specification will commence in full when the current post holder breaks for maternity leave in early 2020.
