We are currently seeking applications for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to fill the following post in our Finance and Business Team and new entrants will normally commence on the minimum of the pay range.
The successful applicant will hit the ground running in this middle managerial role by assisting the Finance & Business Manager with the smooth running of all services throughout the Finance & Business Department at North Edinburgh Childcare. They will be required to co-ordinate and assist in managing the Finance and Business Department, have experience on multiple levels including Finance, HR, staff management, health & safety, customer service, contracts to name but a few.
The ideal individual will have the ability to multi-task and deal with diverse and complex matters on a day to day basis. Problem solving skills should be a key strength along with the capacity to manage multiple ongoing projects at once.
The post requires the applicant to be responsible for the support & supervision of staff within the team, to take a lead with the overseeing of the personnel records; recruitment; temporary staffing arrangements and payroll functions, whilst assisting and undertaking other duties delegated by the Finance & Business Manager. The post holder must have the ability to produce and write reports for the Finance & Business Manager, along with doing month bank reconciliations, manual journals, salary reconciliations to name but a few monthly reports. They will also be the first port of call for line managers and employees with day to day escalated HR queries.
Managerial experience and full Microsoft Office, and Xero experience are essential as are excellent administration, negotiation and communication skills. Experience of using a cloud based HR information system and of collating payroll data would also be an advantage. The ability to pick up other bespoke software systems quickly is a must.
The applicant should have the ability to prioritise tasks, manage time effectively and provide direction and leadership relating to the day to day running of the centre.

The Childcare Manager will become part of the current and well established Senior Management Team of North Edinburgh Childcare.
The ideal candidate will have a BA in Childhood Practice or currently be working towards this qualification (or already have a higher qualification). Applicants must have experience of working with children from birth to 14 years and have registered manager experience.
The role will be initially as a maternity cover post and will be to ensure the day-to-day delivery of all childcare services provided by North Edinburgh Childcare and NEC Enterprise Limited is of the highest quality and to be responsible for overall management of the early education and childcare, Out of School provision and Breakfast Clubs.
This is a Senior Management post and requires the applicant to be at a level where they have the experience to smoothly integrate into the current Senior Management Team easily and with minimum effort. They must be able to provide direct line management for a diverse childcare team at varying levels and have a proven track record of staff development. The successful applicant’s management experience must be of a minimum of between 5 and 10 years.
It is a requirement of the post that the individual will be proactive, working in conjunction with the Senior Management Team, at identifying potential future childcare services along with ensuring current capacity levels are kept to a maximum level throughout the existing services.
Whilst the hours and days shown above are contracted, as a Senior Manager it is expected that this post comes with the responsibility of out of hours working as and when necessary.
Successful applicants must hold a registrable qualification with the SSSC at manager level. They must also have significant Early Years and Out of School care experience.
Applicants must have a full clean driving licence and their own vehicle.
Full time days may be required on some In-Service Days – full salary reimbursement will be provided accordingly.

The Nursery Manager post is a rare opportunity that does not come up often within North Edinburgh Childcare’s well established nursery facility.
The ideal candidate will have a BA in Childhood Practice or currently be working towards this qualification. Applicants must have experience of working with children from birth to 5 years and have registered manager experience.
The ideal candidate must have a proven track record of direct line management for a diverse early years childcare team at varying levels and have an excellent skill set on staff development. The successful applicant’s management experience must be of a minimum of between 2 and 5 years.
The successful applicant will be responsible for the day to day management, running and development of the nursery. S/he will have excellent job knowledge, the ability to work in partnership with parents and other professionals, effective communication skills and a strong leadership style that ensures our nursery team is well equipped to provide the highest standards of early learning and childcare for children aged 4 months-5 year olds.
It is a requirement of the post that the individual will be proactive, working in conjunction with the Early Years & Childcare Manager, at identifying and ensuring current capacity levels are kept to a maximum level throughout the existing nursery rooms.
Successful applicants must hold a registrable qualification with the SSSC at manager level.
