Women’s Aid East and Midlothian (WAEML) aims to empower women until all women, children and young people are free and safe from domestic abuse. We are currently seeking new members to join its Board of Directors.

We are entering an exciting new phase of growth and development and are now seeking Board Members to support our activities. We are looking for creative and innovative feminists who can add to the skills mix of our current Trustees and who share our core values, have a passion for women’s and children’s rights and will uphold our commitment to equality, inclusion and opportunity for all.

We particularly welcome applicants who can demonstrate experience in one or more of the following areas:

• Business Development

• Income Generation

• Law

• Lived experience of using Women’s Aid services

We are keen to improve the diversity of our Board and particularly welcome applications from women in black and ethnic minority, LGBT and /or disability community.

Women’s Support Worker Outreach

We have a 21 hours per week post for an experienced support worker within our team. The majority of case work will include supporting women on an outreach basis. You will also be expected to work with a multi-agency approach and your case load will include individual and group work support.

Candidates ideally have a minimum of 2 years work experience within the violence against women or similar field. Membership of the PVG scheme is an essential requirement and you should be qualified to a minimum of SVQ 3 in Health and Social Care.

This post is available on a fixed term until June 2019. Travel across East Lothian and Midlothian is required therefore a full current driving licence and constant access to a car is essential.

Are you up for a challenge?

WAEML has an exciting new role for a Project Lead. You will work with our CEO to achieve WAEML’s vision and service transformation providing day to day project management of our fundraising and relocation strategy to achieve long term sustainability of the organisation.

It is essential that you have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with proven experience of building strong relationships and the ability to liaise with people at all levels. The post holder will develop and maintain both internal and external contacts and will need to demonstrate a thorough understanding of Women’s Aid’s work and ethos.
