Bliss Scotland champions the right for every baby born premature or sick to receive the best care. We achieve this by empowering families, influencing policy and practice, and enabling life-changing research.
Bliss exists to ensure that every baby born premature or sick in the UK has the best chance of survival and quality of life.
Bliss is looking for someone with the skills and empathy to help us support the families of babies born premature and sick in Scotland.
Having a premature or sick baby is challenging time for many people who experience it. Most parents do not have the opportunity to prepare for the stresses and strains this can put on them emotionally, financially and practically as they work with neonatal healthcare teams to care for their baby.
Bliss supports parents and families so that we can help babies born sick or premature to have better outcomes and a better quality of life. We do this by helping parents and families to be more confident, less isolated, better informed and more involved in their baby’s care. We provide services via volunteers and directly, via different channels.
We are looking for someone who is able to understand the needs of parents and families and put these first, so that we can provide high quality support. You’ll need to be good at working with people, including those with emotional and practical support needs, good at listening and communicating, as well as being organised, flexible and adaptable to work across different types of service.
The post is 17.5 hours per week, home-based. We are flexible about how the hours are worked through the week.
