The Board of Midlothian Sure Start is currently seeking new Board Directors with a particular interest in Health & Safety or finance experience. The Board meet quarterly with Sub Committee meetings in between and meetings are arranged to accommodate other commitments when possible. Meetings are currently held via Zoom. As a charitable organisation, service on the board is without remuneration, however appropriate travel and expenses will be reimbursed.

We are currently recruiting for a COVID Response Counsellor within our Therapeutic Services team. The role will co-ordinate and deliver high quality therapy interventions on an individual, family and/or group basis, to respond to issues raised by Covid 19, on behalf of Midlothian Sure Start.
An accredited qualification in counselling and or psychotherapy recognised by a professional body and registration with a professional body such as; BACP, HCPC, COSCA is essential as is a minimum of 3 years experience of working therapeutically with children and adults.
Based within Midlothian Sure Start across or within one of our 6 centres.

FAMILY SUPPORT WORKER
Part-time 21 hours per week

We are currently recruiting a part-time Family Support Worker within our Parenting team, to support the delivery of services across Midlothian. If you are a dynamic Family Support Worker who would like to provide holistic therapeutic support and help primary school children and their families access therapeutic interventions, we would like to hear from you. You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team with young children who are experiencing social and emotional challenges or have had difficulty accessing learning and/or are experiencing financial hardship. You will combine remote support and face-to-face contact and visit families in their own homes, therefore having access to a car for business use is essential.

We are currently recruiting for various early years posts across our 6 Family Learning Centres. The role is to support and assist in the day-to-day running of the Playroom, creating a welcoming environment for parents and children and contributing to each child’s self-development and level of autonomy.
A qualification in childcare or working towards one and a child protection certificate or commitment to undertake one is essential as is experience of working with young children. An understanding of the difficulties experienced by vulnerable families and good interpersonal and communication skills are also required.
