MELD is looking for highly motivated individuals to join our expanding recovery service. We are recruiting people who are committed to providing services for individuals with substance misuse issues, who can work effectively as part of a dynamic team and in partnership with statutory services.

Applicants should have excellent communication skills, good attention to detail and be confident organising their own workload with often conflicting priorities.

The successful candidate will have strong IT skills with good working knowledge of Word and Excel. Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database experience would be preferred but not essential as training will be given. You will also be skilled in data entry with attention to speed and accuracy.

MELD is looking for an experienced Substance Use Worker to offer Injecting Equipment Provision (Needle Exchange) and Harm Reduction services to clients in Midlothian and East Lothian. This service will be offered from fixed sites and on an outreach basis in partnership with a range of NHS services. An appropriate qualification in Health, any of the Social Sciences or Counselling with demonstrable experience of working with clients, who have difficulties with substance misuse, an ability to work in a flexible manner and adhere to a recovery focussed approach and a full driving licence and own transport are essential criteria.
