Hearts & Minds is an Edinburgh based arts-in-health organisation, the home of the Clowndoctors who interact with children in special schools, hospitals, and hospices and the Elderflowers, a programme for people living with dementia in care-homes or hospital settings.
Our main aim is to improve lives one smile at a time.
We achieve our aim through two specialist arts-in-health programmes; Clowndoctors who work with children and young people in hospitals, hospices and special schools and Elderflowers who work with ladies and gentlemen who are living with dementia in a care setting.
Hearts & Minds is looking to appoint a dynamic Chair with previous board or committee experience, to help steer us towards our 5-year goals. They will work alongside the Board to support Hearts & Minds key-staff to continue to raise the profile of the organisation whilst ensuring that an effective fundraising strategy and correct financial safeguards are on place to support the charity’s work. The Chair will be a real Ambassador for the company with a proven interest in the sector we work in: an effective networker, strategic thinker and clear communicator.
All members of the board must be highly committed to the cause of the organisation and share the same vision in order to take the organisation forward.
Hearts & Minds, the home of Clowndoctors and Elderflowers, has a vacancy for a General Manager to join our growing team in Edinburgh.
The General Manager’s role is to manage day-to-day business operations ensuring that all aspects of our various activities run smoothly across Hearts & Minds’ programmes. The General Manager is a senior member of the management team.
We are looking for an experienced, creative and confident team leader with excellent financial and people management skills. Hearts & Minds is a small organisation which makes large demands on itself to achieve the highest standards in delivering the work. The General Manager will also have excellent written and verbal communication skills and enough flair and drive to ensure the organisation meets its developmental goals over the coming five years.
At Hearts and Minds we believe that meaningful human connection is vital for wellbeing, and that this is especially important when we are at our most vulnerable.
The Senior Fundraising Officer will play a key role in developing the Fundraising strategy of Hearts and Minds. You will identify, generate and grow charitable income to underpin Hearts and Minds programmes by managing a portfolio of funders and prospects, creatively stewarding existing relationships and maximising opportunities for giving.
You will strengthen, develop & maintain the excellent relationships with our donors and key stakeholders and will work with the rest of the Hearts & Minds team in developing the fundraising strategy to further enhance income and build awareness.
We are looking for an experienced fundraiser; self-motivated, with excellent written and verbal communication skills and enough imaginative flair to attain our ambitious fundraising targets. You will also enjoy contributing your ideas to larger campaigns, one-off events and the overall development of Hearts & Minds. If you’d like to be part of our team raising smiles to make the hospital experience more bearable we would love to hear from you.
