Health All Round is a registered charity and voluntary sector agency which aims to support people living in Gorgie Dalry, Saughton, Stenhouse and surrounding areas of Edinburgh to live longer, healthier lives. Using a community development approach we provide services focusing on physical, social and emotional wellbeing and aim to build social capital and reduce inequalities within the city of Edinburgh. We are able to provide a wide range of services because we involve local people in all that we do – through volunteering, through consultation and by working together to meet the whole community’s needs.

Go for Green Co-ordinator

Funding for this project has been provided by the Self Management Fund for Scotland administered on behalf of the Scottish Government by the Health and Social Care Alliance Scotland (the ALLIANCE) with support from the William Grant Foundation.

Your office base will be: 24 Westfield Avenue, Edinburgh, EH11 2QH but the majority of your work will be outdoors, within South West Edinburgh You may also work from home from time to time.

The aim of this post is to set up, manage and develop a new ‘Go for Green’ service to support and enable people who are vulnerable to poor health outcomes to access greenspace. We specifically aim to support people living with long term health conditions and people affected by poverty.

The post holder will be employed by Health All Round, a community health initiative which aims to improve the health and wellbeing of people living in the South West area of Edinburgh.

Taking a community development approach, the post holder will support local people to: identify personal outcomes and priorities; overcome barriers to achieving goals; support access & engagement with greenspace; facilitate peer support networks for long term health improvement.

Community Link-worker

The Community Link Worker programme is funded by EVOC & Edinburgh Health & Social Care Partnership to: Strengthen connections between GP Practices and the 3rd sector; Support people to live well through bridging the gap between community resources and primary care.

The post holder will be employed by Health All Round, a community health initiative which aims to improve the health and wellbeing of people living in the South West area of Edinburgh. They will be working in partnership with Springwell Medical Centre and Murrayfield Medical Practice.

Taking a person centred approach, the post holder will support patients referred by medical practice staff to: identify issues affecting their health & wellbeing; identify personal outcomes and priorities; overcome barriers to achieving goals; support access & engagement with local and national agencies & services.

Healthy Lifestyles Co-ordinator

Using a community development approach HAR works with local GP’s and other allied professionals to promote the social model of health and support the most vulnerable people in our community to improve their health and wellbeing.

The Healthy Lifestyles Co-ordinator (HLC) will have responsibility for the delivery of our physical activity and healthy eating services. This includes a variety of programmes to suit individuals of all ages (16+) and abilities.

Your office base will be: 24 Westfield Avenue, Edinburgh, EH11 2QH but the majority of your work will be out with the office, in venues within South West Edinburgh. You may also work from home from time to time.

Applicants should have a health related qualification such as: Sport & Exercise Science; Physical Activity & Health; Health Psychology.
