GCA is looking to recruit a Wellbeing Counsellor who will hold sessions with individual staff to support them as they support their clients. From time to time this may include group sessions with staff around common themes. This will all be undertaken in a safe and trauma informed setting which will encourage individuals to look at their own practice and wellbeing. There may be some requirement for supporting people with personal issues.

The Training Co-ordinator will support the Course Director and Course Tutors to implement all aspects of course delivery and provide a liaison contact for student enquiries. The Diploma in Integrative Counselling is a 2-year course, credit rated at SCQF level 10 by the University of the West of Scotland, with initial validation from COSCA.
In addition the Training Co-ordinator will carry out a range of administrative and IT- related tasks across the organisation. The Training Coordinator will deputise for the Office Manager and will assist with the organisation and supervision of all administrative activities and will line manage administration staff and administration volunteers in their absence.

The U-Turn Group Worker will support the Peer Education Harm Reduction Service for the Young People in South Lanarkshire. This is a new service to be delivered by GCA and funded by NHS Lanarkshire, on behalf of South Lanarkshire ADP.
The main focus of this service will be peer education with the added provision of one to one support and supervision for the YP Peer Educators themselves. The service will adopt a citizenship approach when working with the YP Peer Educators. There will be an expectation that the YP Peer Educators will work towards achieving qualifications through training and as a result of the work they undertake.
This service will target and focus on some of the most vulnerable young people (aged 12-18 years) living within South Lanarkshire.
The YP Peer Educators will be supported to deliver peer education inputs across South Lanarkshire to other Young People and Young People focussed groups incorporate a harm reduction approach as well as a separate element of addressing stigma/language around drug and alcohol use.

Role:
The role of the Communities Manager is to engage with traditionally non-engaging communities within Glasgow and develop links for GCA. There is a particular focus on the LGBTQ+ communities as well as those affected by poverty, trauma, homelessness as well as those from the BAME communities.
The Communities Manager will lead/facilitate the Kinder Stronger Better (KSB) Operational Group and be the conduit to the KSB Steering Group as well as managing KSB Volunteers. GCA is the lead partner in Kinder Stronger Better.
KSB are a group of LGBTQ+ community members and professionals in Glasgow that came together to design a LGBTQ+ alcohol and other drug related health campaign and called it #KinderStrongerBetter. KSB works together towards communities and services that are visibly supportive of LGBTQ+ people who are affected by their own or someone else’s alcohol or drug use. This project is part of wider work being undertaken by the Glasgow LGBTQI+ Substance Use Partnership, comprising alcohol, drug, LGBTQ+ and family support services, as well as the NHS and academic researchers. The group was set up in recognition of the health inequalities experienced by LGBTQ+ people around substance use (alcohol & drugs) and following on from research showing that LGBTQ+ people can face additional barriers to accessing drug and alcohol support.
