  • Flourish House, Glasgow
  • Closing 3rd July 2023

Flourish House is a Glasgow based mental health charity providing services based on the philosophy and standards of the Clubhouse Model.

Our organisation's mission is to help people who have experienced mental illness regain their confidence and self-worth and to assist their recovery through participation in meaningful work, education, wellbeing, and community activities.

The Project Worker's job is to collaborate with members and involve them in the variety of worthwhile activities we offer in the Clubhouse. In this instance, the role will have a specific concentration within the Work and Learning unit, where you will lead activities and help members take part in personal development and learning opportunities. You will co-produce and co-facilitate information sessions, listening events and recovery based training sessions directly alongside Clubhouse members.

All Clubhouse employees play a generalist role, therefore you will have the chance to engage in other activities including social events, wellbeing activities and cooking.

In keeping with the clubhouse concept, which states that everything we do is member-driven, we asked members what qualities they desire from a new staff member. Below are some of the responses received.

“Someone who has lived experience or in depth knowledge and genuine interest in mental health”

“Someone who can bring a fresh perspective and new ideas”

“Good people skills, good sense of humour, kind & caring”

“Willingness to help and get stuck in to all areas of the clubhouse, preferably a good cook!”

“Friendly, approachable and has a lot of patience”

The ideal candidate will have these qualities as well as a good outlook on people, a willingness to be flexible, and a desire to work as a team member.

Members input is crucial for Flourish House to thrive. Additionally, you'll be well-versed in IT, social media, and online procedures, as well as possess strong interpersonal and communication skills. Working with individuals who have ongoing mental health issues will be advantageous.
