CRER is a Scottish strategic racial equality charity, based in Glasgow. We are focused on working to eliminate racial discrimination and harassment and promote racial justice across Scotland. Over the years CRER has had a key role in advocating, campaigning, and influencing developments to promote racial equality. We have been effective in responding to a broad range of interests needed to make an impact upon deep rooted issues and respond to the needs of communities.

Research Officer

The Coalition for Racial Equality and Rights works to eliminate racial discrimination and harassment and to promote racial justice across Scotland. We are looking for an outstanding candidate to support the work of our policy team.

Key duties will include undertaking research to gather, analyse and interpret national and local data, identifying evidence based means of challenging and influencing policy and producing high quality briefing papers on race equality related issues.

The successful candidate will have outstanding research and analytical skills, a good knowledge of equality issues and legislation and previous research experience. Most importantly, they will have the desire and ability to make a real improvement to racial equality issues in Scotland.

Parliamentary & Public Affairs Officer

The Coalition for Racial Equality and Rights works to eliminate racial discrimination and harassment and to promote racial justice across Scotland. We are looking for an outstanding candidate to support the work of our policy team.

Key duties include undertaking effective policy analysis and producing briefings on key policy and parliamentary developments especially as they relate to racial equality, community cohesion and the application of human rights in Scotland.

The successful candidate will have an excellent knowledge of equality issues and legislation, excellent political awareness and demonstrable experience of previous work in informing public policy and the preparation of policy documents. Most importantly, they will have the desire and ability to make a real improvement to racial equality issues in Scotland.

The Coalition for Racial Equality and Rights works to eliminate racial discrimination and harassment and to promote racial justice across Scotland. We seek an outstanding individual to develop our programme of community engagement / empowerment and campaigning work.

Key duties will include building an effective coalition of stakeholders to further our work and to develop initiatives to engage, capacity build, educate and campaign for racial equality, community cohesion and human rights.

The successful candidate will have an excellent knowledge of equality and human rights issues and practices, an understanding of community development principles and experience of previous work with communities in a variety of settings. Most importantly, they will have the desire and ability to make a real improvement to racial equality issues in Scotland.

This post is funded by the Glasgow Communities Fund. (Initial fixed term contract until March 2022, with a possibility of extension).
