We are looking for an enthusiastic Project Officer to join Fast Forward’s Scottish Gambling Education Hub. This role will have a focus on youth groups and other informal education settings.

The Hub was Scotland’s first gambling education and prevention programme, focusing on protecting young people from gambling harms, its work includes delivering training to practitioners, staff, schools and youth groups, developing resources, as well as partnership building with national organisations.

Administration and Finance Officer

We do this through working directly with young people, and those who support them, providing experiential learning based on accurate information and sound advice.

We are recruiting a Project Manager will manage the day to day operations of the Scottish Gambling Education Hub, to provide direction and leadership to the Hub staff team in support of Fast Forward’s mission and strategic aims.

Fast Forward operates the Scottish Gambling Education Hub, in partnership with GambleAware. The Hub is Scotland’s only gambling education and prevention programme, focusing on protecting young people from gambling harms.

Established in 2018, the project provides free training, support and resources for practitioners who work with young people and families, with tailored approaches to the following 5 sectors:

  • informal education sector
  • youth employability sector
  • formal education/secondary schools sector
  • further and higher education sector
  • parents and carers sector

We are looking for an enthusiastic practitioner with excellent communication skills and experience in working in the education and further/higher education sector. Experience in youth work and youth employability settings is also desirable. The work will include delivering training to universities, colleges and schools as well as partnership building with national organisations and contributing to the ongoing development of the Hub.

Other tasks will revolve around the following functions:

  • To develop the work of the project in line with the agreed project objectives.
  • To work closely with local and national partner agencies to promote, implement and facilitate all aspects of the project.
  • Liaise closely, and establish good working relations, with other professionals and members of the public, working or involved in health, education, youth and community work.
  • To develop and deliver training, educational resources and group work programmes suitable for a variety of settings.
  • To ensure that information, advice and support is made available to all relevant agencies and services across Scotland.
  • To complete evaluations and produce regular reports on the progress of the work as required by senior management.
  • To keep up to date with development work and research relevant to the project in the field of gambling, gaming, cryptocurrencies, risk-taking behaviours, health promotion, group work and training methods.
  • To contribute to the wider work programme of Fast Forward as required from time to time by the Chief Executive.
