You will work closely with local schools and strategic partners, including employers, funders and other stakeholders, developing professional relationships that will offer a diverse range of experiences and opportunities.

Working with individuals on a one to one basis, and also in groups, you will support them to explore opportunities that will allow them to become independent, active members of their community and have a successful transition out of school on to a positive destination. You will be given a work plan to achieve in order that programme participants are receiving a quality service and we are achieving the expectations of funders and stakeholders.

National Contract Manager

Our Fair Start Scotland teams support people who have learning disabilities, long-term health conditions and other, often complex barriers, to make progress towards and achieve employment. Your role, as National Contract Manager, will be to manage the delivery of our Fair Start Scotland contracts in North Lanarkshire, Renfrewshire and Aberdeen.

You will be responsible for all contract management in our 3 delivery areas; key to this will be developing positive professional relationships with our programme partners in each area. You will be responsible for all programme monitoring and reporting to lead partners and Scottish Government Performance Managers and will be required to attend regular partnership meetings in each delivery area. You will work closely with our Team Facilitators and Employment Coordinators in our 3 delivery teams and will be responsible for driving performance in-line with contractual targets. You will motivate and monitor performance and ensure we deliver a quality service across the programme whilst meeting challenging project KPIs.

Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • A commitment to support people with learning disabilities to get the jobs they want
  • Understanding of employability services and methodologies
  • Knowledge of the Fair Start Scotland programme
  • Knowledge of skills and employment services for disabled people

Successful applicants will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Experience working with adults and children with learning disabilities, epilepsy, autism and physical support needs.
  • Experience in using person centred planning techniques in addition to delivering and leading excellent support practices.
  • Strong facilitation skills to encourage staff teams to take ownership and responsibility for the quality of support they deliver.
  • The ability to effectively communicate with the people we support, staff teams, families and external care professionals.
  • Creating and delivering robust service designs, support strategies and risk assessments whilst managing individual budgets.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise your workload whilst working under pressure.
  • SVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent desirable
  • Full driving licence with access to your own vehicle for business use.

We are looking for an experienced Administrative Assistant to support the management team with the day to day organisational tasks within our East Lothian office.

The Administrator is the key to the success of the support we provide and will ensure that information and administration systems are working effectively. In addition he/she will be expected to possess a strong working knowledge of Word, Access and Excel packages and will have proficient keyboard skills.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and enjoy working as part of a busy, dynamic team. You will have excellent IT skills, and be able to assist the management team in setting up IT systems that will support our work. You should be self motivating with excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise your workload. You will need to be able to work using your own initiative and we will be keen to meet candidates who are able to apply a problem solving approach to challenges.

This mangement role will include being regularly present within the services and providing support to people we support and staff teams.

You should be ready to grasp excellent opportunities to develop knowledge and skills in Positive Behaviour Support.
