Policy & Development Officer (Workforce)

CCPS (The Coalition of Care & Support Providers in Scotland) are looking for someone with experience of working in a policy, information and/or development role with knowledge and understanding of voluntary sector social care and support services in Scotland. The ideal candidate will also have experience of research and information gathering and writing/producing information materials and publications to a high standard.
The new post-holder will support the CCPS Workforce Development Network of voluntary sector social care providers. Their specific focus will be on workforce planning, career pathways and progression and the workforce elements of the CCPS digital programme. Secondments are welcome.
Information and Better Futures Officer

The Housing Support Enabling Unit assists agencies delivering housing support across Scotland. We are now looking for an Information and Better Futures Officer to undertake the full range of information tasks within the Unit. This will include supporting and managing the use of the Better Futures online outcomes measuring system as well as creating short newsletters, e-bulletins and posting website content.
A secondment arrangement would be welcome.

Public Affairs and Communications Coordinator

We are looking for a creative and proactive team player to lead on public affairs and communications at CCPS at a critical moment for social care in Scotland.
You will be a skilful communicator with a background in influencing and building stakeholder relationships, experienced in generating digital content and managing digital media and events. You will also be well versed in Scottish politics and public policy and bring an understanding of parliamentary processes and procedures along with experience of writing briefings and speeches.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive person to work alongside our other CJVSF Development Coordinator to coordinate and develop the work of the Criminal Justice Voluntary Sector Forum (CJVSF).

There is significant activity underway in Scotland to use digital resources to improve care, particularly through plans for the new National Care Service. We are looking for a new member of staff to join our team with a passion for applying their expertise in data and research. You’ll engage with staff, members, and partners to shape the detail of new data sets and records to improve our understanding of the social care sector and the lives of people engaged with it. We also want to build our own expertise and capacity in CCPS so that we can commission, gather and use data and research to best effect, and you will work across teams to support us building new skills.

The Role and You
Our Head of Communications & Engagement will provide advice to the CEO on strategic communications and engagement activity on priority areas such as the National Care Service and the cost-of-living crisis. You’ll already hold good relationships with the Scottish media and other influencers and, preferably, you’ll have existing knowledge of social care, the third sector or a related field. You’ll develop and drive our organisation-wide communications plan, building impactful messaging across channels as well as retaining hands-on delivery of our media function. You’ll also work with our policy staff to develop our engagement work with members and partner organisation as we build our voice for change.

We are looking for a successful and creative senior policy professional to join our small and influential team to lead the day-to-day delivery of impactful policy across our key portfolios and take an active role in our senior leadership team.
You’ll have proven experience in successfully influencing change in national policy, preferably in social care, or a closely related field such as health or housing, with an in-depth understanding of how policy is made in Scotland. You’ll enjoy working collaboratively to find solutions to difficult social policy and practice problems. You’ll be used to representing an organisation at the highest levels. The Role and You
Our Parliamentary and Communications Officer will drive our parliamentary engagement work, with a particular focus on legislative reform and the Fair Work agenda, ensuring that CCPS’s messages, aims and values are shared effectively with key stakeholders.
Alongside the parliamentary brief, you’ll develop and expand our communications, with a particular focus on digital communications and media engagement.
You’ll bring with you a thorough understanding of Scotland’s political landscape and how Holyrood works, and significant experience in communications and media engagement, with particular skills in social media and growing audiences online.
Helping to build our voice, implement our brand and contribute to quality improvement, you will be a valued-led professional committed to inclusion and an ethical approach to sharing people’s stories. You’ll be part of a small communications team, line managed by the Head of Communications & Engagement.
