Employability Support Worker

Canongate Youth provides a range of services, opportunities and support to children and young people aged 5-25 in Southside, South and Central Edinburgh. As part of our ongoing commitment to empowering children and young people and providing quality youth work and employability services we are seeking to recruit for the following post;

1 x Employability Support Worker

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, and fun person to provide employability support to a caseload of young people aged 16 – 24 years. The postholder will have strong interpersonal skills with experience of providing individual support and training, and crucially is able to develop positive relationships with young people. We are looking for someone to help us work towards our outcomes and uphold the values of the organisation.

Youth Development Worker (Employability & Wellbeing)

Canongate Youth provides a range of services, opportunities and support to children and young people aged 5-25 in Southside, South and Central Edinburgh. As part of our ongoing commitment to empowering children and young people and providing quality youth work and employability services we are seeking to recruit for the following post.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, and fun person to lead on and deliver a programme of individual support and groupwork to young people aged 14 -24 years. This is a temporary post to cover maternity leave. The postholder will have strong interpersonal skills and experience providing training, learning and person-centred support and is able to develop positive relationships with young people. We are looking for someone to help us work towards our outcomes and uphold the values of the organisation.

This post is part time at 28 hours, with some level of flexibility in the hours worked. It will be based at our premises at South Bridge Resource Centre, but will also include work in schools, outreach, and some homeworking where appropriate.

Youth Development Worker (Employability)

£25,052 pro rata, 28 hours per week fixed term for 1 year

This post will lead on the delivery of the NOLB Activity Agreement Programme. Canongate Youth is the city centre hub for this programne and takes referrals from across the city. The postholder will work directly with young people to agree a bespoke package of activity to encourage and support them in taking their next step towards a positive destination. We are looking for someone with experience in employability support and training and a person-centred approach to supporting young people aged 16-24 years.

Deputy Manager

As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting children and young people we are seeking to recruit for a Deputy Manager.

The post holder will work alongside the Manager on the strategic development and functions of the organisation. They will play a lead role in the development of Canongate Youth’s services, in line with the organisation’s charitable purpose, mission and values. We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and experienced individual who can contribute to the management of the organisation, ensuring it continues to provide high quality services for children and young people.

The post is subject to the receipt of two suitable references and membership of the PVG Scheme.
