Established in 1977 ARK Housing Association Ltd provides 450 tenancies, and supports over 400 people through our dedicated and highly skilled workforce of 800+ staff. We operate in 12 Local Authority areas in the North and East of Scotland, and we also have services in The Western Isles.

Although a housing association the majority of ARK’s activity relates to the provision of care and support for people with long term and enduring conditions such as learning disability, mental health issues, dementia and autism. We currently have vacancies for Non Executive Board members at a very exciting time for ARK. We are entering a period of new direction with the recent appointment of a new CEO alongside a new Chair Person on the voluntary board whose focus is positive engagement with the wider organisation. As a new Board Member you will play a key part in the formalisation of business strategy for the next 5-10 years. This will be clearly focussed upon delivery of high quality Housing and Care & Support services.

We are looking for dynamic, forward thinking and enthusiastic people from a variety of backgrounds to contribute to ARK’s emerging future. We will provide tailored training and development and you will also work alongside a number of experienced Board Members who can share learning and experience.

Support Workers

ARK Edinburgh are looking for individuals who can provide person centred practical, emotional and social support to a diverse group of Service Users. This could include supporting individuals with Autism, learning disabilities, mental health diagnosis and those who have a physical disability. Each service user has an individualised support package that determines the number of support hours staff work with them on a daily basis. These packages have varying outcomes to be met daily from correspondence, assisting with banking, shopping, meal prep, community based activities such as supporting the individual to medical appointments, the cinema, theatre, or going away on holiday. There are also elements of personal care included in some packages provided by ARK.

The focus of the support provided is to assist in meeting identified outcomes for each individual to promote a fulfilled independent life.

In Edinburgh ARK provide support services within 6 areas to a diverse group of individuals.

Areas:

· Broomhouse (Bankhead, South Gyle)

· Hoseasons (Corstorphine Area)

· Oxgangs

· Quartermile (Lauriston)

· Southhouse

· Southhouse Autism

The Care and Support Manager will be accountable for the operational delivery of ARK’s Care and Support services and the implementation of policies, procedures and systems that ensures ARK delivers good outcomes for people we support.

The post holder will lead a team of Support Workers in all aspects of operational delivery and provide support and guidance to support staff in keeping with the ethos and values of ARK. You will be responsible for implementing key objectives and will have delegated responsibility for ensuring that ARK provides services of the highest standard which are cost effective and responsive to the needs of service users and tenants.

Reporting to the Area Manager, you will have delegated responsibility for the implementation of systems, processes and approaches that adheres to all aspects of regulation within your area of responsibility. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of delivering high quality regulated services with the Care Inspectorate.

The position requires the post-holder to be able to operate at management level with appropriate decision-making and problem-solving skills, and with a firm professional ethic. Motivational team leadership and team development abilities are necessary with a positive commitment to continued professional development for self and others. Strong organisational, interpersonal, negotiating and influencing skills are prerequisites.

ARK Housing Association is currently recruiting an Administration Assistant based supporting the Services ARK has in St Andrews.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an organisation that aims to ensure vulnerable people live a good life. We need your skills, knowledge and expertise to make it possible.

Your role will be to provide confidential administrative support to the Managers across ARK Services in St Andrews.

Ideally, you should hold secretarial and administrative qualifications and have administration experience, preferably in a Housing Association or similar office department. Your job as the Care and Support Administrator is to provide an effective customer focused service to our Service Users and staff as necessary. You will act as point of contact for all telephone enquiries and carry out general office administration, including system administration and financial record keeping, working closely with the local Area Management team providing information and administrative support where required.
