Senior Short-term Housing Support Worker (STHS)

In response to the government’s new agenda for ending homelessness and the Fife Rapid Rehousing Transition Plan, we are now seeking to recruit individuals wishing to participate in furthering our work in homelessness prevention and trauma informed housing support practice. This post reports to the Lead for Short-term Housing Support and will provide first line supervision to staff carrying out the delivery of Short-term Housing Support (STHS) within geographic teams. The post holder will have day to day responsibility for client centred service delivery and management responsibility for Short-term Housing Support Assistants. As part of the wider change to homelessness services in Fife, it is anticipated that the postholder will dedicate an agreed apportion of their time, working with PSP partners to deliver outcome-based support.

The post holder is expected to actively promote solution focused service delivery which is strength based and meets the desired quality and compliant standards as directed by the organisation, CI and funders.

Please note all the above posts benefit from an additional 1.5% salary increase, effective as at 1st April 2019

This post is responsible for delivering impartial, confidential and professional housing advice under the Scottish National Standards for Information and Advice Providers (SNSIAP) and under Frontine Fife’s policy directives/procedures.

The post holder will assist those experiencing housing difficulties towards the achievement of positive outcomes using a strength-based approach to ensure they are better informed about their options, rights and responsibilities.

The post holder is expected to facilitate and assist individuals using a strength based approach therefore, it is essential for the postholder to understand each individual’s unique position, the skills they have and the opportunities they choose to achieve their goals.

The post holder will be line managed by the Lead for STHS and supported indirectly by the Lead for Homelessness Prevention.
