Charity registered in Scotland SC026265
‘Orkney Money Matters’ is a new partnership project which has been developed by a group of local third sector and statutory organisations. It aims reduce the levels of financial insecurity in Orkney by increasing access to advice and cash-based support. It will do so through the creation of a ‘advice-and-cash-first’ referral pathway. The project will develop frameworks and resources to support closer working between organisation, as well as developing a centralised promotion campaign to raise awareness of available support.
The Money Matters Links Worker roles will provide initial triage and navigational support to individuals who access Orkney Money Matters through Orkney Citizens Advice Bureau, the advertised entry point to the referral pathway. They will work with the individual to understand their goals and needs and will connect them with available support. For those experiencing a financial emergency, the Money Matters Links Worker will support the individual to access immediate support, prioritising access to the Scottish Welfare Fund. The Money Matters Links Worker will work with individuals for a period of around two weeks, with flexibility for those with more complex needs.
The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal, communication, computer and administration skills. Knowledge of welfare benefits and debt legislation would be beneficial
but not essential as comprehensive training will be provided. The postholder will be required to undergo a PVG check.
We are recruiting two Money Matters Links Worker roles. Both roles are for 35 hours per weeks for an initial 12 month contract.
