Established in 1999, The Pavillion (Greater Easterhouse) is a community youth organisation that provides a safe, fun, and nurturing environment for young people from primary 1 upwards, with most activities having historically focused on children and young people aged up to 18 but now with an increasing focus on whole family, whole community activities. Everything that we do aims to inspire our participants, raise their aspirations, help them to address the challenges that they face and encourage their development as young people.
The core of Pavillion’s service offer is a drop-in service for Mini’s, Junior’s, and Senior’s. While attending these sessions, young people take part in a wide range of engaging and developmental activities including issue-based workshops, sports, team building, games, STEM activities, art, music, and IT related activities. Specific additional projects are then developed around this core. For example, our peer wellbeing programme for young people allows young people to discuss their mental health and wellbeing and to support each other through a network of peers.
We also place a strong focus on attainment, helping young people to demonstrate what their development, through Youth Achievement / Dynamic Youth Awards, Community Achievement Awards, Saltire Awards and Youth Access units at Kelvin College.
Purpose of Job
The Business Development Manager in partnership with the community and staff will be responsible for developing and leading the business development strategy for the organisation.
The Pavillion needs a long-term plan. We have a small facility and a large catchment and an ever-increasing waiting list of families who need access to the service. We need to look at options for premises going forward. New build? Development on the current site or is it taking over an unused building in the community?
We also need to develop new income streams which lessen our need for grant funding.
We think this is a fantastic opportunity for someone with the correct skills and enthusiasm to make a real difference in a community despite having to deal with enormous issues, still has the drive and determination to succeed as individuals and a community. This well not be easy but it will be rewarding. In a world were there is so much darkness, this will be a beacon of light

We wish to employ a PT Youth Mental Health Worker to develop and deliver a package of support with a specific focus on youth mental health & emotional well-being through a range of activities such as group work, 1-2-1s, information sessions, campaigns and other relevant activities.
Using current campaigns, media and youth issues as the platform for initial discussion the group work would involve sessions where the young people identify issues and look at ways of addressing these.
This would be delivered through arts and social media sessions to form their own campaigns which would be acknowledged through the club and supported by all staff e.g. mental health week, anti-bullying week to name a few suggestions. The campaigns would focus on promoting positive mental health & well-being and promote the already and free existing activities available at Pavillion such as fitness, art & music as well as shape new activities where gaps exist.

The Pavillion Development Trust (established 1999)is a youth and community organisation that provides a safe and fun environment for young people to take part in many activities including sports, games, coding, art, and music. We work with children to reduce social isolation, helping them to build friendships and to build their confidence and life skills. We provide help and support to young people through issue-based workshops to enable them to tackle issues they may face including anti bullying, healthy relationships, and alcohol/drug issues. The number of young people who attend The Pavilion has risen sharply in the last couple of years and continues to do so.
Job Role
The Peer Wellbeing project coordinator will develop and deliver a programme of workshops to work on the issues young people are experiencing. They will work with them to develop coping mechanisms and strategies to enable them to work through these and cope better in their daily lives. The programme would consist of group work sessions and 1-2-1 support for the young people attending while linking them into any support services they require. The Project Coordinator will work closely with young people who are keen to develop and progress by becoming peer mentors.
Peer mentors will use their own learning to support new members coming through the project in a peer to peer role while being supported by the project coordinator. The Project Coordinator will work closely with the staff team and attendees to ensure a universal message is delivered during all drop in sessions and support is available for all young people.
