The successful candidate will develop a digital children’s participation model of engagement, involving children with additional support needs, including those with communication challenges.
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced individual who is passionate about empowering the voice and participation of children with additional support needs in Highland. The successful candidate will evidence being a fun and creative individual, with exceptional communication skills and ability to work independently as well as part of a small dynamic staff team.
The role is currently home based with most participation being online through Google Classroom. Some Highland travel and face to face work may also be required.
Inspiring Young Voices is a SCIO (Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation) whose objective is to enable children and young people, particularly those with additional support needs/disabilities, to have their voices heard – where and when they wish.
It supports them in raising awareness and bringing about positive changes in matters they see as important. It advises them on ensuring that their human rights are respected. It helps them to increase opportunities, improve their quality of life, and hold people to account.
The charity was established in 2000 as Highland Children’s Forum and then Highland Children and Young People’s Forum (HCYPF).
With a change of name, a renewed vision and strategic plan, and a range of new projects, Inspiring Young Voices is entering an exciting new phase and we are looking for an energetic, capable and experienced individual to lead the charity to greater success over the next year and beyond.
The Chief Officer will lead, manage and develop the work of Inspiring Young Voices in line with the charity’s strategic plan and brand proposition. They will support the Board and any working groups to ensure they are able to fulfil their responsibilities. They will represent and be the voice of the charity with key stakeholders and partners.

Place of Work: Mix of home-based (laptop and mobile phone will be provided) and some attendance at the Inspiring Young Voices office in Inverness.
