Third Sector Dumfries and Galloway (TSDG) works with third sector partners and public agencies to support voluntary organisations and our local communities. We are looking for a motivated and energetic Digital Inclusion Officer to work as part of our management team. You will create and deliver our strategic approach to digital inclusion in this large rural area where digital exclusion is a real barrier to growth and well-being. TSDG has a central role to play in breaking down this barrier by working with local communities to identify the impact of digital exclusion and enabling the third sector to respond through additional funding and support. Volunteers will play a major part in delivering our digital strategy.

The Business Manager will be responsible for the management and delivery of ‘back office’ operations including finance, HR, health and safety, property and general compliance. Other areas of responsibility include assisting the Chief Executive with governance, funding and reporting.

The post holder will manage and delegate work to the Business Support Team who are responsible for the administrative internal processes and procedures underpinning the day-to-day work of TSDG, and will provide higher level/more complex administrative support to the Management Team and Board members.

Employability Officer (Community Transport PSP)

We are leading on the development of the Community Transport Public Social Partnership (PSP), working with Statutory and Third Sector Community Transport partners.

One of the key workstreams of this PSP is capacity building the community transport sector in Dumfries and Galloway. This includes the development of an employability pathway programme. The programme will develop a model for unemployed people, particularly young people, to gain skills, qualifications and employment in the transport industry.

We are recruiting an Employability Officer to be part of our team. The Employability Officer will develop, implement and oversee the pathway, and will work with colleagues to develop a sustainable funding model for the project.

We are looking for someone who has a good knowledge of employability programmes, project development skills and who wants to assist people and make a difference to people’s lives.

The Business Support Co-ordinator will deputise for the Business Manager and provide administrative support to the Finance and HR functions of TSDG in addition to providing core business and adhoc project support.

We are looking for an experienced administrator who is highly organised, demonstrates attention to detail and has excellent written and verbal communication skills. They must be trustworthy and reliable, with a proactive approach to work.

All Engagement Officers will be linked to a geographical area of Dumfries and Galloway and travel will be an important aspect of this work.

A recent development of our business plan is to develop and support third sector employability services. TSDG is committed to increasing the employability of people in Dumfries and Galloway through improving the capacity, scope and influence of third sector employability provision. We also aim to increase third sector influence and understanding of policy development at national, regional, and local levels.

As a member of the Local Employability Partnership (LEP), TSDG supports the aims and objectives of the LEP Improvement Plan and those of “No-one Left Behind”

Overall, our goal is to raise the profile of the third sector as a key partner in delivering employment outcomes in D&G so we are looking for someone with a passion for getting out there and having conversations with grassroots organisations to build knowledge and capacity.

If you have an interest in community empowerment and supporting and strengthening the work of charities in D&G and have the drive, energy, and enthusiasm to build the capacity of local groups, this job could be for you.

If you have experience working in a charity, or volunteering or have worked in community development, we would like to hear from you. Perhaps you have experience in training, or you may be working in the public or private sector. What matters is that you have the drive and ability to engage with a wide range of individuals and groups across the region and put the needs of the third sector first. You will also be great at networking, maintaining relationships with stakeholders while representing TSDG in a positive way.
