Progrez Scotland is a local charity who supports people from all backgrounds and ages in the North of Glasgow. We are
known for the great care we take with participants, customers, volunteers, and employees alike.
In partnership with PTCT we are delivering The Childrens Holiday Food Programme which offers nutritious food to
children and young people during the school holidays.
We are looking for a Chef/Cook, to work in a fast-paced demanding environment.
Key responsibilities & duties:
- Oversee day to day running of kitchen.
- Taking responsibility for the preparation and presentation of all
the food in the Progrez Kitchen.
- Work with the Operations Manager to develop menus, catering for all
dietary requirements and increasing customer footfall.
- Maintain high standards of communication and
professionalism
- Support the Operations Manager with inspections undertaken by LA, Environmental Health
Inspector and external verifiers ensuring we meet the necessary Health, Hygiene and Safety
requirements.
- Working with Operations Manager to develop and carry out stock ordering
protocols.
- Maintain accurate stock records for all provisions, light and heavy
equipment.
- Support the Operations Manager and team in effective control of catering revenue and
expenditure.
Health and Safety:
- Adherence to all procedures related to Health and Safety and COSHH regulations with regard to food storage,
preparation, equipment, materials and general safety
- Ensure that a good standard of hygiene and
cleanliness is maintained throughout the kitchen, to meet the required standards of practice prescribed by
Environmental Health Agencies
- Ensure all equipment used is well maintained, in good working order and to
log any defects and report to the Operations Manager as required
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness,
personal hygiene and appearance at all times
The Location:
Progrez Scotland is based in Springburn North Glasgow. There is free parking on site and is well served by public
transport.
This is a temporary position, for 6 weeks of the school holidays, its 30 hours per week, these will be over 7 days
and flexible between the hours of 8am – 6pm. There is an opportunity for this to become a permanent role.
