The role

The role

The board sets the strategic direction of the organisation and will ensure that all legal and regulatory requirements are met, and best practice is promoted. As a board member, you will be required to contribute to the governance of the organisation including attending bi-monthly board meetings and the AGM. You may be asked to undertake other duties such as representing the organisation at external events or in the media; or assisting with fundraising, network or influencing work. This is an exciting opportunity to join CASWA (Caithness and Sutherland Women’s Aid) as Manager responsible for the day to day management of the organisation.
The Organisation
CASWA is an organisation for women, children and young people in Caithness and Sutherland. It is the only agency in this vast rural geographical area providing specialist support services to meet the needs of all women, children and young people who experience domestic abuse/ violence against women.
What You’ll Do
Working with an experienced team and Board of Directors, you will manage all aspects of CASWA to a high standard of operational delivery; to ensure that the strategic goals of the organisation meet the needs of all stakeholders including service users, staff and funders and that CASWA values are met. You will deliver CASWA’s business plan whilst ensuring the financial viability of the organisation, be responsible for overall staff management and welfare whilst also maintaining and developing excellent working relationships with external partners.
What We Need
The successful candidate will have management experience, including financial management, service development and delivery, experience of strategic planning and developing and reviewing policies and procedures. Line management experience is also essential.

We’re looking for someone who has
• Qualifications sufficient to register with Scottish Social Services Council, or the ability to undertake further study to do so
• You will have an understanding of the effects and issues surrounding Domestic Abuse and Violence Against Women
• Membership of Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme is a requirement for this post.
