Lochaber Hope is a Life Skills and Recovery charity based in Fort William open to the whole community. Since 2005 we have delivered personal development training, employment skills support, confidential mentoring and counselling services.
Formed in 2005, Lochaber Hope is a Fort William based charity which aims to assist people throughout Lochaber. Its aim is to assist people who are experiencing vulnerable or crisis periods in their lives by providing a range of services including mentoring, counselling, employability support and personal development. Furthermore, Lochaber Hope offers a number of peer support and activity groups which are provided to support individuals and offer them opportunities to connect with the community and help identify those vulnerable.
The Project Manager will deputise for the Executive Manager in all aspects. This would include the daily running of the organisation, oversight of staff, volunteers and counsellors, marketing, PR and networking.
A suitable candidate would need to be innovative, creative and passionate about their part in forwarding the Lochaber Hope vision. They should be able to drive the charity forward to face the challenges of a post-covid society. They will be enthusiastic, an excellent listener, resourceful and able to meet people where they are. They will display genuine care and consideration for the needs of individuals. An important part of the role is to establish good relationships with clients, staff and volunteers as well as reaching out to partners throughout Lochaber.
Working within a small team, the successful candidate will be expected to have a flexible, proactive and ‘can-do’ attitude, able to confidently use their own initiative. Adoption of a non-judgemental approach will be essential. Confidentiality is an integral part of this post, as is setting and maintaining boundaries. A key role would be in championing the positive image Lochaber Hope enjoys.
The successful candidate would be expected to undertake any other duties appropriate to the post which are required for the efficient functioning of Lochaber Hope.
The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate extensive knowledge, skills and experience in the following areas:
• Project leadership
• Writing successful grant funding applications
• Working in the charity/third sector forum
• Management of staff.
• Experience with volunteers
• Training others
• Social media / website updates
• Record keeping, reporting, monitoring and evaluation
• PR, social media, marketing
• Well developed IT skills
• Networking and partnership working
In addition, they will:
• have excellent listening and communication skills
• be able to work well in a nurturing environment with a team of staff and volunteers
• be able to adhere to strict confidentiality
• be non-judgemental
• work well with people
• have a full driving licence
• be eligible to work in the UK
Enhanced PVG disclosure will be required.
A salary of £23,915 per annum is offered as well as the opportunity to join a generous company pension scheme and 34 days leave per year.
