Beat is the UK's only nationwide organisation supporting people affected by eating disorders, their family members and friends, and campaigning on their behalf.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of shaping and delivering new and existing support programmes to our beneficiaries, providing vital support to those experiencing disordered eating and their loved ones. This role will offer essential work experience to individuals who are looking to work in the mental health and/or eating disorders field.
The Support Programmes team have been commissioned to deliver different programmes including guided self-help, waitlist management for those waiting to access treatment and carer support groups. Support is delivered by telephone, video chat and online communication channels.
Beat’s Programme Officers provide high-quality support services to Beat’s beneficiaries, endorsing early intervention and sustained long-term recovery, notably through these commissioned Support Programmes and Helpline Services. Due to increased demand, the Support Programmes team has grown significantly grown over the past 12 months.

Are you passionate about the value of coproduction and participation? We are looking for an experienced facilitator to effectively engage the voices of people with lived experience.
The postholder will support the Coproduction Lead with the development, coordination and delivery of our growing coproduction activities. They will recruit and support people with lived experience to contribute to Beat coproduction projects, as well as delivery of a high quality coproduction service on behalf of external partner organisations, including the Scottish Government and the NHS.
We welcome applicants who have lived experience themselves or lived experience of supporting someone with an eating disorder.
The postholder will work flexibly, with occasional group sessions taking place in the evening or weekends.

The National Lead (Scotland) role is a vitally important role as we seek to increase our profile, influence and impact in Scotland. The successful candidate will spearhead our work in Scotland as we seek to end the pain and suffering of eating disorders.
We are looking for an excellent relationship builder who is able to build impactful connections with politicians, civil servants, clinicians, third sector partners, those affected by eating disorders and others to promote Beat, the support we provide, and the changes we are calling for.
We are looking for someone who is comfortable representing Beat in the media and to stakeholders and who is able to champion Beat. We also want someone who can represent the needs of Scotland internally, and ensure that our strategy, plans and communications will maximise our impact in Scotland.

Funding from the Scottish Government is enabling us to run a project to provide a range of support services to people with eating disorders and their families in Scotland and we want to make sure these are promoted as widely as possible. This role is a newly created one, designed to help us reach as many people as possible with our support and to help this funded project in Scotland run as effectively as possible.
We are looking for someone who is organised and enjoys working with others to deliver a shared goal. We also want someone who enjoys building relationships and will be effective at establishing a network with eating disorder clinicians and others to promote our support services.
