We are recruiting for an experienced Administrator to support the Healthy Lives Directorate to ensure smooth running of core business processes, including providing high quality diary management support to the Director.

The post holder will bring experience of providing high quality and efficient administrative support within a busy hybrid team, whilst working to tight deadlines and managing competing priorities.

We are recruiting to the position of Programme Manager, to work with the Head of Improvement Programmes in applying established and innovative programme management principles to ensure the design, delivery and effective leadership of a large and complex portfolio of activities. This is a pivotal role leading the Health Foundation’s work developing and delivering practical programmes that will lead to real change in the UK health system.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team, managing external partnerships and effectively delivering complex programmes. You will become an expert in the work of the Health Foundation, working with award holders and the Insight and Analysis team to understand challenges and successes and using that knowledge to influence the development of future work.

We are looking for candidates who are passionate about improving health outcomes and understand what it takes to turn great ideas into deliverable and impactful programmes for front line teams. You will be experienced in the health and care sector or have highly relevant experience from closely aligned fields.

Our policy team aims to support more evidence-informed policies on health and social care in the UK, contributing to better population health. We do this by analysing, understanding, and informing national policies on health and care, with a particular focus on the overall direction of the health system and how it is performing.

As Policy Fellow, you will contribute to all aspects of the policy team’s work, from fast-moving reactive work to longer-term policy analysis and research. You will focus on work related to health and care system reform, with a particular focus on primary care. Your work will include analysis of long-term policy issues in general practice (such as funding, workforce, and access), developing our monitoring of general practice performance data, and contributing to our portfolio of work on improving equity in primary care. Work on broader system changes will include analysis of national policy developments in the NHS, such as the new integrated care systems, and health system approaches to tackling inequalities.

You will have experience of carrying out policy analysis and using qualitative or mixed methods to help understand health and social care policy developments. In addition to good knowledge and curiosity about wider public policy, you will be able to work collaboratively with other teams across the Foundation.

All members of our policy team contribute to our written work - so the ability to write with clarity about complex issues is essential.

The REAL Centre was set up to improve the quality of decisions across the health and care system. We do this by commissioning and conducting high-quality research which provides evidence on issues such as funding, service priorities and workforce.

We are seeking a highly experienced funding / grants manager who can work with us on a fixed term basis to launch a major funding call later this year, oversee the application and assessment process, and onboard the successful applicants.

The funding call, with total funding of £14 million for two REAL Centre Research Units and a linked fellowship programme. The Units will develop research programmes in our areas of interest; demand for and supply of health and social care and support the development of the fellowship programme.

This is a complex and high-profile funding programme; the ideal applicant will have experience of managing research funding on a similar scale. Outstanding communication skills and the ability to manage a wide range of both internal and external stakeholder relationships (across organisations and all levels of seniority) is essential. This is a fast-paced programme that will suit an individual looking for a new challenge in an ambitious team.
