Recovery Champion Trainee x3 - Edinburgh Wide Recovery Services

Change Grow Live provides a fully integrated recovery service across 3 localities in Edinburgh (South East, South West & North West) and aims to provide high quality one to one and groupwork opportunities to people wishing to recover from addictions. Making recovery visible and easily accessed is a key driver for the Edinburgh Recovery Services. We work in partnership with the NHS Lothian and Edinburgh Council to provide Recovery Hubs across three localities in the city of Edinburgh.

The successful candidate will have an excellent understanding of drug and alcohol issues and have experience of lived addiction and recovery. Candidates should be able to demonstrate an understanding of the difficulties and challenges faced by those in recovery and be willing to learn how to plan recovery journeys and will be trained in how to facilitate group work sessions.

Some of the work you will be trained to engage in includes:

  • Providing a range of motivational and supportive interventions to enable service users to build recovery capital and to remain motivated to achieve recovery with support from others in the Hub teams.
  • Help develop and grow the recovery community in Edinburgh within Change Grow Live and other partners
  • Supporting service users to develop appropriate coping skills/support networks to increase positive recovery outcomes.
  • To be a point of contact for peer-led support and initiatives supporting the increase of visible recovery across Edinburgh

Administrator - Edinburgh South East Recovery Service

South East Recovery Service is a free and confidential drug and alcohol service for adults in South East Edinburgh.

We provide psycho-social support for people with substance misuse issues and a range of one-to-one interventions and group work programmes to aid people in their recovery.

A vacancy for a receptionist/administrator has arisen to join our team, supporting the high-quality delivery of recovery focused interventions to service users affected by drug and alcohol issues.

The post holder will provide reception and administrative services to the South East contributing towards its aims and objectives. They will also support the Team Leader, attending relevant meetings and minute taking as required, as well as providing timely reports to the commissioners and CGL. Duties for the post include dealing with initial queries, welcoming clients and professionals into the service, signposting within the service and the community, also accurate information and data recording. The post holder will be expected to maintain a clean office environment with meticulous attention to detail and a great telephone manner.

The successful candidate will have experience of providing administrative support in a service based organisation, a good knowledge of general office procedures, excellent IT literacy skills, solid numerical skills, and good organisational skills. They will also need good interpersonal skills as team working is essential in this role.

We are looking for an experienced and proactive support worker to join our team, to assist in provision of high-quality delivery of recovery focused interventions to service users across Edinburgh. The services are delivered from our offices, based at Craigroyston Health Centre and on an outreach basis in a variety of venues across the localities that we cover. Support is provided in one to one and groupwork settings.

The successful candidate will have a good understanding of drug and alcohol issues and experience of working within a related field. Also necessary is a commitment to multi-agency working, excellent communication skills, and a practical approach to facilitating service user involvement.
