This is an exciting new post, with substantial opportunities to develop and implement a new and diverse range of community-based sporting, leisure and recreational projects, intiatives activities, and events. The post is part time, but EDC manager will work with the successful candidate to seek funds to increase these hours as the programme is developed.
The new post holder will be given the opportunity to assist and support Fauldhouse and Breich Valley Community Development Trust (F&BV CDT) as it seeks to develop and implement a wide range of new community-based projects and initiatives.
The post holder will be based at the Eastfield Development Centre (EDC) The EDC is a community facility that F&BV CDT began leasing from West Lothian Council in May 2017. The process of transferring ownership of the building from West Lothian Council to F&BV CDT is well underway and is expected to be completed by Autumn 2021.
The Sport, Leisure and Recreational Development Worker will work closely with the EDC Manager, the EDC Management Group, the F&BV CDT Board of Trustees, the Staff Team and local volunteers (among others) to develop a diverse programme of activities, projects, initiatives and events aimed at meeting the Sport, Leisure and Recreational needs of local people, families and the wider communities.
To assist in the efficient and effective day-to-day operation of Eastfield Development Centre (EDC) and to assist in ensuring that EDC provides welcoming, clean, and safe facilities for the public.

This is an exciting opportunity to manage, support and develop an exciting programme for Eastfield Development Centre. The centre was asset transferred by Fauldhouse and Breich Valley Community Development Trust (F&BV CDT) from West Lothian Council in 2022. The centre is now ready for the next stage, and F&BV CDT are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced, self-starter to develop an innovative community led programme.
The F&BV CDT would like a self-motivated manager to help establish a range of community-based projects and initiatives. The centre has a large hall, and an outdoor football pitch. There are plans to develop the centre to include a café/kitchen area and vital office and meeting spaces.
The centre currently has the potential to develop into a vital community asset with a range of community based projects and activities. The post holder would work with the local community, the Eastfield Development Centre Management Group, and F&BV CDT Board of Directors to develop an inspiring programme for the centre which meets the identified needs of the communities of Fauldhouse and the wider Breich Valley.
The EDC Manager will work in partnership with the Hub Manager to ensure there is a programme that works across the two centres, the Hub being the centre for F&BV CDT current activities, communications, finance, and administration. The Hub also provides access to a wide range of groups, projects, and activities. This includes advice, support, information services. The F&BV CDT would seek to ensure the two centres worked in partnership to ensure provision was holistic and linked across the two facilities.
