The Role

The Network Development Manager will work closely with our four regional partners in Scotland and with the wider Network team to provide direction and support to meet our ambitious development plans and support regional staff. The post holder will work with the network and FareShare UK to create infrastructure to enable FareShare UK and our regional partners to work well together. This role will support our Scottish Network Partners to develop and guide charity acquisition, growth and support. As well as manage a number of Network-wide Projects and Scotland specific projects that will allow growth and support of our network. The post holder will promote the principles of Dignity in all our service delivery and encourage a strong focus on community development and in building community resilience in place of the provision of food aid and support the achievement of Scotland’s food waste targets and policy objectives.

Food Commercial Officer Scotland

Your important role will be to represent FareShare and engage with the food industry in Scotland, to develop and grow volumes of surplus food distributed through the 4 FareShare Scotland Regional Centres based in Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh and Glasgow. Using your account management skills you will manage existing and new business relationships growing our supply base and ensuring rewarding and sustainable relationships for the partner. You will need determination and drive to work effectively with a wide range of businesses and organisations.

The role involves working closely with the FareShare Scotland Team, the FareShare UK Food Team as well as the wider FareShare team to strengthen our capability to source and handle more food. As well as managing existing food partners and spend time researching and contacting potential new local food suppliers in the region, the role includes researching and making new contacts and following up leads. By working closely with the FareShare UK team we ensure coordination on management of UK wide food partner accounts as well as consistency of approach and delivery of national initiatives where appropriate.

The role will also be required to work closely with the FareShare UK Food Supply Co-ordination team and will be required to support any food purchasing initiatives in Scotland should the need arise.
