Operations Manager

Our Purpose

We have recently relaunched and have exciting plans to expand our community offerings.

The Role

The role of the Operations Manager is to support the CEO to deliver the strategic and operational priorities of the organisation by providing strong leadership, direction and motivation for staff and key volunteers involved in the day today delivery of services and community engagement. They will be responsible for monitoring and evaluating programs of activities, developing corporate relationships, and creating new opportunities for service development to support the work and vision of the charity.

The Applicant

We are looking for someone with:

  • Strong leadership skills
  • A demonstrative record of leading a small team
  • Excellent planning and organisation skills
  • Experience in developing Corporate Partnerships
  • Project Management experience, as there is a number of opportunities that have arisen since the relaunch
  • A passion for diversity and inclusion, to enable us to incorporate this in everything we do

It is not essential that you have 3rd Sector experience but must have the skills listed above.

Activities and Volunteer Co-ordinator

  • Neighbourhood Centre in Craigshill, Livingston

This is a 28 hour per week post. Hours of work will be over 5 days with some small degree of flexibility by agreement, whilst meeting the organisation’s needs. Spark is committed to supporting staff to ensure we deliver an excellent standard of service to our members and stakeholders. Occasional evening and/or weekend work will be required.

This is a varied and interesting role that offers the post holder the opportunity to work in a fast-paced setting and contribute to the development of an innovative programmes for the community. The post holder will be expected to multitask to meet objectives and key results.

We want a candidate who enjoys being front and centre, delivering excellent service, and working as part of an established charity committed to growth and development.

We are looking for someone who.

  • Has a relevant qualification or can evidence their experience.
  • Will understand Spark’s core values and purpose
  • Can build relationships and foster partnership working.

The total pension contribution for this role is the standard 8%, and a generous annual leave entitlement of 29 days (including public holidays) (FTE) pro-rata.

Fundraising Manager

The role of the Fundraising Manager is to work with the CEO to develop a Funding Strategy to support the work and vision of the charity.

This community-based charity provides practical support, a range of social group activities and volunteering opportunities with the aim of reducing social isolation and loneliness.

The Fundraising Manager will identify grant-makers, corporate charity partner opportunities and other fundraising initiatives to maximise its income. This will include crowdfunding and fundraising events.

They will develop funding proposals and prepare financial reports for grant making Trusts and Foundations.
