Fundraising Coordinator

Working in a vibrant centre in Kirkcaldy, you will report to the Strategic Manager.

Responsible for all aspects of fundraising activity, you will be specifically responsible for generating essential income for our family centred services through grants, trusts, foundations and corporate sponsors.

Working with our services, you will identify opportunities to generate new income streams.

You will be highly organised, with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively.

As importantly, you will bring a positive attitude and personal drive to the role and the wider organisation.

Key skills:

  • At least 18 months experience in fundraising positions for third sector Organisations
  • The ability to research and develop new income streams
  • At least 18 months experience in fundraising positions for third sector Organisations
  • A working knowledge of Microsoft package
  • Evidence of writing dynamic funding proposals and Inspiring people to commit to the fundraising goals of the Centre
  • Research skills and attention to detail: sourcing information and statistics, researching trends, assessing costs.
  • Creativity: putting together innovative events and projects

Children’s Therapeutic Support Worker

The Cottage Family Centre was established in 1987. The focus of the work at the Centre is to provide a range of support to those families and individuals within family units who are vulnerable to social exclusion as a result of factors such as poverty, unemployment, poor housing, relationship breakdown, drug and alcohol problems and health related issues.

The range of services that the Cottage provides includes a therapeutic service for children and young people.

We are looking for a qualified and experienced therapist competent to work with children and young people. The successful candidate must be a qualified Play Therapist, Art Therapist or Counsellor qualified to work with children and young people. This position will be based within our new Family Centre at St Clair Street Kirkcaldy.

You will need to be self-motivated, have the ability to work independently with a positive and flexible approach and demonstrate a sound understanding of social issues that affect children, young people and families.

This post will be subject to a Protection of Vulnerable Groups check and 2 references.

Hours: 18 hours per week

Salary: £20,238.00 pro rata

Dads Project Worker

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced practitioner to work within the Family Support section of the services delivered by the Cottage. You will have at least two years’ experience of supporting families within a social care/ community setting.

You should hold a minimum qualification of SVQ 3 Services Children and Young People or HNC/D in Social Care or Working with Communities, or equivalent, and have a positive and flexible approach and an understanding of social issues that affect individuals and families in need.

As well as providing a range of support and practical advice, you will ensure that group work programmes which will include outdoor activities are provided to complement and enhance the individual work undertaken with male parents/ adult carers and/or their families.

You will be required to work with minimum supervision, demonstrate an ability to work independently and overcome challenges to working with complex situations.

You will be expected to be competent in working with Microsoft based software.
