The Cottage Family Centre was established in 1987. The focus of the work at the Centre is to provide a range of support to those families and individuals within family units who are vulnerable to social exclusion as a result of factors such as poverty, unemployment, poor housing, relationship breakdown, drug and alcohol problems and health related issues.
The Big Hoose Project was established in December 2021 to support children and families experiencing poverty across Fife with essential household items. We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated, highly committed and customer-focused Distribution Centre Manager to join our friendly and dynamic team.
The position would suit someone with experience in delivering outstanding customer service and leading people in a warehouse environment incorporating both inbound and outbound operations.

A vacancy has arisen for an Infant Parenting Practitioner at the Cottage Family Centre. You will have a range of knowledge and experience in supporting parents with children aged up to 12 months in a one to one or group setting.
You will have a sound knowledge and understanding of issues affecting families with young children e.g. parental mental health and wellbeing, additional support needs, social isolation, poverty
You will be able to demonstrate an ability to use restorative and trauma-informed practice as well as have a sound knowledge and understanding of parenting strategies and approaches e.g. Solihull
You must have at least 3 years’ experience of working in a similar role/setting and a minimum SVQ level 3/HNC or equivalent in Early Years/Child Care/Social Care or related area, or other relevant qualification

Working in a vibrant centre in Kirkcaldy, you will report to the Strategic Manager.
Responsible for all aspects of fundraising activity, you will be specifically responsible for generating essential income for our family centred services through grants, trusts, foundations and corporate sponsors.
Working with our services, you will identify opportunities to generate new income streams.
You will be highly organised, with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively.
As importantly, you will bring a positive attitude and personal drive to the role and the wider organisation.
Key skills:
• At least 2 years’ experience in a fundraising position for third sector Organisations supporting vulnerable children and families.
• The ability to research and develop new income streams
• A working knowledge of Microsoft packages
• Evidence of writing dynamic funding proposals and evidencing of outcomes through reporting
• Inspiring people to commit to the fundraising goals of the Centre
• Research skills and attention to detail: sourcing information and statistics, researching trends, assessing costs.

The Cottage Family Centre was established in 1987. We are looking for an appropriately qualified and experienced counsellor to join our Therapeutic Service providing support to parents/carers who have often experienced multiple challenges and traumatic events in their lives. This support will include 1-1 open ended counselling as well as facilitation of a parent support group.
You will need to be self-motivated, with a positive and flexible approach and have a deep understanding of issues that affect individuals and families.
Our service is registered with the BACP and therefore you should be qualified to Diploma level and have a minimum of 3 years’ experience within a similar role and BACP/UKCP accreditation.
You will also be required to undertake monthly external support and supervision.

You will have an ability to work creatively with play resources in order to provide young children with high quality nurturing experiences. You are also required to demonstrate an ability to work effectively within a team.
You will be expected to have experience in a similar role and an HNC in Early Years or HNC in Childcare and Education or SNNEB and/or SVQ 3 Social Services Children and Young People

The Cottage Family Centre offers support to vulnerable families with children aged between Birth – 16 years living in the Kirkcaldy and surrounding areas.
Our Children’s Service provides high levels of care and support for children aged 0-8 years and their families through a variety of playroom and home based support.
We require a highly motivated person with a deep understanding of children’s learning and development as well as the challenges facing our families across our communities.
The individual must have the ability to lead and support a small staff team within a childcare setting and report to the Team Manager. The worker will be responsible for supporting the Team Manager to develop a broad range of learning activities which are specific to the needs of vulnerable children.
Qualifications required are: A practice qualification - SVQ 4 Children and YOUNG People or equivalent, PDA Level 8 Childhood Practice.
A certificate in Food Handling and First Aid are also desirable.
