Project Family Support Worker

First Step is a community based, locally managed project in Musselburgh. Our aim is to provide opportunities for families with young children to make positive choices and to encourage parents and children to develop their skills, confidence and self-esteem. We provide a range of services for families with children under 8, including early learning & childcare, a family support service and a varied programme of groups and classes.

We are seeking an approachable, self-motivated, engaging professional with the skills required to support families and individuals with a wide range of needs.

The successful candidate will offer family support to vulnerable and isolated families with children. The post holder will work within the local community using a strengths-based approach. A qualification at degree level in Early Years, Community Education, Social Work or equivalent is essential.

The post is subject to membership of the PVG scheme and satisfactory references.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Officer to join our developing, innovative team.

A financially experienced person with excellent communication and organisational skills is required to undertake the book-keeping and other tasks including budgeting and financial planning. Applicants must also have experience of using a computerised account system.
