Men’s Project Worker

We are seeking to appoint a full-time Men’s Project Worker for our City Centre project in Glasgow.

We work daily to improve the lives of our guests; helping them to flourish and know fullness of life. Our Men’s Project Worker will play a key role in our project team, helping to meet the needs of the numerous men who are already in contact with our services.

In order to fulfil the Christian Ministry this role entails, applicants should have an active Christian faith with a live church connection in accordance with our Ethos Statement and Values. (see job description) Please note we are also seeking to appoint a male candidate for this role. These are occupational requirements in terms of the Equality Act 2010.

This position relates to regulated work and will require membership of the PVG scheme.

Child and Family Centre Project Worker

We are seeking to appoint a full-time Project Worker for our Child and Family Centre in Govan.

Glasgow City Mission’s Child and Family Centre provides a number of valuable services to the local community from nursery provision and parenting support classes, to after-school clubs and confidence building activities. Working with over 100 children and their families, our aim is to break the poverty cycle and give children in Govan the best start in life. By coming alongside and supporting families, we help children and parents alike grow to become confident and ‘life equipped’.

As part of the childcare team of the nursery, this role will help us to deliver a wider range of clubs and activities for children and young people.

Applicants should have SVQ III in childcare or equivalent.

Our City Centre Project provides a wonderful space in central Glasgow for many of the city’s homeless community to receive care, connection and advocacy as well as emotional and spiritual support. We welcome up to 160 individuals a day and eating together is at the heart of our care. Food is an essential physical component but sharing food helps build rapport with guests.

We are looking for skilled Chef-Cooks who can run a dynamic kitchen, create tasty and healthy food, and provide oversight and pastoral care for teams of trainees and volunteers. It is desirable for applicants to have catering qualifications, experience of Cooksafe procedures, and experience of caring Christian ministry.
