Scripture Union Scotland's vision is to see the children and young people of Scotland exploring the Bible and responding to the significance of Jesus. We are a national charity, with almost 100 staff and over 2,000 volunteers. Our activities take place in schools, outdoor activity centres, churches and online.

SU Holidays is operated by SU Scotland and organises and runs around 100 holiday events for children and young people across Scotland. We are recruiting a Temporary Administrator based in our Glasgow office. Working as part of the SU Holidays team, the successful applicant will provide an administration service for SU Scotland’s Holidays programme, ensuring high standards of support for all users, whether staff, volunteers, parents or young people.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

The role is varied and includes responsibility in the following areas:

  • Assisting with Travel and Logistics administration.
  • Communicating clearly with all relevant stakeholders (e.g. parents, Team Leaders) in relation to camper and travel information
  • Design and produce monthly team leader information emails
  • General office administration including phone cover, dealing with customer enquiries as well as providing support to the Holidays Manager and Assistant Manager

Holidays Manager

In addition to our work in schools, with churches and in SU centres, for over 80 years we have run a vibrant programme of holidays and camps for children in P5 through to S6. There really is nothing to beat the experience of a residential adventure break for having fun, making new friends and developing faith!

Building on encouraging growth in recent years, this role offers a rewarding opportunity to bring leadership to the ministry of SU Holidays, supporting a talented team of staff and an extensive network of passionate and committed volunteer team leaders who help make the ministry happen, and see it grow to the next level.

You will have proven leadership skills with strong experience in managing teams and individuals, operational delivery and customer focus. Candidates should be mature Christians able to support the spiritual leadership of a team of staff and volunteers. Candidates should also possess sound business and communication skills. You will be an excellent team player, motivated self-starter and work well under pressure.
