St Andrew’s Hospice is a registered charity providing specialist palliative care for patients with life-limiting conditions which require complex symptom management, and/or end-of-life care. It is Lanarkshire's specialist hospice and provides multidisciplinary support for patients, their families and carers. The service is provided completely free of charge for the adult population of North and South Lanarkshire and is open to all without distinction of race, gender or creed.

What is the role?

As the Shopping Outlet Manager, your primary responsibility is to lead and manage the day-to-day operations of our Shopping Outlet in alignment with the organisations goals and values. Your role encompasses strategic planning, staff and volunteer management, customer service, and financial accountability, all aimed at maximising the outlets profitability and supporting our charitable initiatives.

The post holder will also provide supervisory cover for the Warehouse Manager as required.

St Andrew’s Hospice is a registered charity providing specialist care and support to those living with life-limiting conditions and their families via our Inpatient Unit, Outpatient Department, Bereavement Support and Education. St Andrew's Hospice is governed by a Board made up of members who are both Directors of the organisation and Trustees. Hospice Trustees are volunteers and meetings of the Board take place up to six times a year. The Hospice Board seeks to be a balanced representation of the Lanarkshire community. Due to upcoming retirements, we are seeking new Trustees to join us in our work and deliver our next strategy.

We are especially interested in recruiting Trustees with expertise in the following areas:

• Accountancy
• Digital technology
• Clinical / NHS Management

We would also be keen to hear from you if you have other relevant skills and experience that could also benefit the Hospice. You will have gained skills and experience through your life and/or work that would make a valuable contribution to the Hospice Board. You will be enthusiastic, able to work effectively in a team, scrutinise reports, ask questions and weigh up issues. Most importantly, you will have a commitment to the ethos and values of St Andrew’s Hospice. Ideal applicants will have proven experience at Executive or Board level and have an interest in both the charity sector and the future direction of palliative care. Becoming a member of our Board of Trustees will provide you with an opportunity to share your skill set and make a valuable contribution to our strategic plans and direction. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enterprising and enthusiastic person to join our Community & Events Team. We are looking for someone with an engaging personality who has a passion for fundraising.

You should have fundraising, events or sales experience and relish the challenge of maximising income to provide care for people in the communities we serve.

The post holder will have responsibility for arranging and maximising income from fundraising events, community fundraising/third party activities as well as initiating and growing new supporter relationships. It is important that you have well developed customer service skills, experience of managing and co-ordinating events, meeting and exceeding income targets and the ability to creatively recruit supporters.

The role will involve meeting supporters, attending cheque presentations and delivering talks to various community groups, organisations and businesses to further promote the work of the Hospice and engage new donors.

The post holder will have responsibility for growing and maintaining successful corporate relationships, developing our ‘care our care for a day’ campaign, major donor stewardship, sponsorships, employee fundraising and maximising support for events. It is important that you have well developed customer service skills, the ability to influence/persuade a wide range of stakeholders to support St Andrew’s Hospice and experience of meeting and exceeding income targets.

The role will involve meeting supporters, attending cheque presentations and delivering talks to, organisations and businesses to further promote the work of the Hospice and engage new donors.
