Streets Ahead (Borders) are looking to recruit an innovative and empathetic CEO to oversee their continued growth. Located in the beautiful Scottish Borders, Streets Ahead (Borders) is a charitable organisation providing care and support to adults with Learning Disabilities, Acquired Brain Injury, Dementia, and Mental Health - both at home and out in the community. Having provided this service for over 30 years, we have established unparalleled support to the local community.
This is a unique opportunity to lead one of the largest employers in the Scottish Borders. There is scope to grow, innovate and inspire the future development of our service.
The person we employ will be an experienced leader who can lead the strategic direction and operational performance of the organisation. They will be financially astute and will be tasked with driving our bid and tender process, maximising new opportunities and building a network across the region.

This is a full time, permanent position. The successful candidate will ideally be based in our Hawick office but will also be able to work between our other locations in the Scottish Borders
Streets Ahead (Borders) is a charitable organisation based in the Scottish Borders. We provide care and support to adults both at home and in the community. Most of the people we support have learning disabilities.
We are recruiting a full-time Service Manager to join the Management team in our Hawick service.
The ideal person will be dynamic with a strong value base, a commitment to promoting positive outcomes for people we support and the skills to support colleagues in the workplace. You must have SVQ Social Services and Healthcare SCQF Level 7 in Social care or equivalent, plus a minimum of two years’ experience in a supervisory role or a proven record of managing staff teams in a supported living environment.
Reporting to the CEO, you will:
Streets Ahead was founded 35 years ago at a time when people in long term institutional care were being resettled to live in the community. Streets Ahead is a Registered Charity. Streets Ahead (Borders) is looking to recruit to 4 Trustee/Director appointments for the Board of Directors. We are seeking volunteers from a diverse range of backgrounds to join the charitable organisation, as a Trustee, to help make a difference to people across Scottish Borders. Applicants should be able to give a commitment to Streets Ahead, have integrity, good independent judgement, an ability to think creatively, an ability to work effectively as a team member. As a Trustee/Director, you will have the chance to influence strategy and directly support this organisation's workforce, which provides care and support to people, who because of their learning disability, mental health, dementia, or ill-health require care and support in their daily lives. We offer a range of support, guidance, and practical help. We also offer support to their families. You will serve on the governing body of the charity and be instrumental, alongside your fellow Trustees/Directors in providing the governance that supports the CEO and Senior Management team in the successful running of the services.
Background: Family Carer, Health and Social Care Services, Education, Finance, Strategy and Governance, Fundraising, Commercial, Commissioning, Human Resources, Legal, Risk, Quality Assurance, Community Integration
Time commitment: 6 Board meetings per year plus possible 4 Finance Committees, depending on interest and supporting discussions
Tenure: A Trustee/Director will be entitled to hold office for 3 years and shall then be eligible for re-election

We’re recruiting Support Workers in our Duns and East Berwickshire Service and while some experience would be an advantage, we are equally keen to support people to develop the skills required. All training will be provided. Willingness to undertake an SVQ level II qualification is necessary and if you have enthusiasm, commitment, a good sense of humour plus the ability to work with people with a disability in a positive, honest manner then we would like to hear from you.

Full-time or part-time posts are available. Applicants should be flexible in their approach to hours of work, as staff may be required to work a range of shifts including regular weekends, sleepovers and waken nightshifts. We will also consider applicants who would be prepared to work weekends only or evenings 4.30pm to 9.30pm. A valid driving licence would be desirable although not essential.
Any offer of employment will be conditional on a satisfactory Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) check and two satisfactory references.
