Our work has always involved supporting disadvantaged communities and the COVID-19 pandemic has reinforced the importance of inclusion and creating opportunities for all. Through our community media outlets, we provide unparalleled access to community media opportunities, training and support for our volunteers, based primarily in the regeneration areas of Aberdeen.
Collectively, our platforms provide opportunities for underrepresented voices to be heard, while developing a range of new skills. The initiative creates an engaging and inclusive process for community members to produce content which accurately reflects their lives, share information with other residents, while holding those in power to account.
Our projects combine to create a wide range of benefits for individuals and communities, fostering a spirit of engagement and partnership working, developing transferrable skills in participants and contributing towards increased social capital.
Our Community Development Manager will play a key role within the organisation, working alongside the Chief Executive to design, manage and coordinate all strategic and operational aspects of all community engagement and outreach services across the organisation.
The postholder will lead on the development and implementation of our Community Development & Engagement Strategy, including a review of all our existing community services and engagement with a range of our community partners, and play a key role in ensuring the impact of our community development work is recognised and valued.

This is a pivotal role with the responsibility for the development, delivery and quality assurance of all our qualifications, which will help us to realise our ambitions for the future of accredited provision across our organisation.

Through our community media outlets, we provide unparalleled access to community media opportunities, training and support. We have over 20 years of experience in delivering youth-led initiatives, focussing on long-term support, concentrating on the key points of transition (from primary to secondary school, and leaving school), and with young people experiencing challenges and disadvantage.
To further support our communities and our young people, shmu have been an SQA accredited centre since 2012 and deliver a suite of media and personal development focused qualifications for young people, including delivering Foundation Apprenticeships in schools across Aberdeenshire. We also support our volunteers and adults engaged with our services to undertake accredited qualifications from our suite of SVQ Awards, encouraging skills development, positive learning experiences, increased confidence and self-belief.
As a result of significant developments in our accredited programmes in recent years, we are looking for a Training and Qualifications Manager to lead on this area of work.
Our Training and Qualifications Manager will act as the SQA Coordinator, ensuring that all the organisation’s accredited programmes are designed, managed and delivered to the highest standards through robust quality assurance and performance management in accordance with our own policies and SQA guidelines.
The postholder will also support the operational staff team to deliver our suite of accredited programmes across the organisation, ensuring the qualifications meet the needs of those who undertake them.

We are looking for an exceptional, passionate individual to join the North East Culture Collective Project Management Team as NECC Development Worker.
The North East Culture Collective (NECC) is a Culture Aberdeen project, funded by Creative Scotland until March 2024, establishing a network of practitioners, organisations, and communities, working together across the North East to create a positive difference in response to Covid-19 and other current challenges (by community we mean a geographic area or an interest group).
The NECC Development Worker will support the work of the NECC co-ordinator across all aspects of the North East Culture Collective (NECC) programme, with specific focus on three key areas: Communication; Evaluation and Monitoring; Training and Events.
The postholder will be a passionate advocate for the role arts and culture can play in society and have some experience of arts administration and communication. They will work with the NECC creative practitioners and project colleagues to:
The NECC Development Worker will also contribute to the national Culture Collective programme, ensuring that learning about how the arts can be delivered and the impact arts and culture can make is effectively collated and shared.

Our Community Development Manager, supported by the Scottish Government’s Investing in Communities Fund, will play a key role within the organisation, working alongside the Chief Executive to design, manage and coordinate all strategic and operational aspects of all community engagement and outreach services across the organisation.
