Renfrewshire Leisure is the charitable trust providing cultural, leisure and sporting opportunities to help people enjoy active and healthy lives in Renfrewshire. We provide a range of affordable, accessible and engaging services that are open to all.

As well as supporting the economic regeneration and civic renewal of Renfrewshire, we are developing a cultural portfolio intended to raise the profile of Renfrewshire as a national and international cultural tourism destination.

We have an exciting role for a Fundraising and Development Officer. This role is the perfect opportunity for a creative, ambitious fundraiser, who is self-motivated and can lead the delivery of our ambitious fundraising proposals and deliver on our fundraising objectives. The post holder will report to the Head of Business Development to implement and undertake fundraising strategies that will increase income growth, collaborating with trusts, foundations, statutory funders, corporate partners, and individual donors.

The post holder will report to the Head of Business Development and is a new role for the organisation which gives the role holder the opportunity to carve out the fundraising and development direction for the organisation.

Qualifications/Experience

Essential Criteria

  • SVQ3 in Business Administration or equivalent
  • Experience of creating compelling funding applications and proposals
  • Have a track record in securing 5/6 figure grants from Foundations and Trusts
  • Experience of major donor and/or corporate fundraising experience, proven ability to make direct fundraising asks
  • Demonstrable experience of a broad range of fundraising techniques thorough knowledge of charity law and fundraising practice, including tax effective giving and GDPR.

Desirable

  • A degree in business, communications, PR, journalism, or English
  • An understanding and appreciation of the importance of donor cultivation
  • Working with volunteers

Responsibilities

  • Composing and distributing applications to Foundations and Trusts that will income for Renfrewshire Leisure’s capital and revenue projects
  • Working with the Head of Business Development to develop the current fundraising strategy
  • Delivering annual income targets, which are agreed with the Head of Business Development
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the team to identify funding opportunities
  • Develop relationships across our region and beyond to build the reputation of the organisation
  • Manage and develop the data held across fundraising, producing regular reporting on activity and ROI, adapting plans as required
