Income Adviser

Connect Community Trust has operated employment support services over the past 8 years and it is an integral part of the organisation and our support to local people within Greater Easterhouse and surrounding areas.

A key priority for Connect and our partners is to provide support to people through the current welfare reform and fuel poverty. Growing indebtedness has meant increased demand for money and benefits advice services.

As a result of this growing demand Connect is working with local housing providers (Provanhall HA, Gardeen HA and Blairtummock HA) to provide direct money and benefits advice. Giving people the support, knowledge, tools and confidence to be able to resolve matters or provide a gateway to specialist advice or other complementary services.

Objectives of this income advice service and the posts include:

• To work towards the alleviation of hardship and disadvantage by providing information, advice and assistance on money, benefits and related issues i.e. fuel poverty

• To promote the financial wellbeing of residents

• To contribute to the development of strategies and interventions to reduce financial exclusion

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic person who will take on this new role to support local people to gain access to digital technologies and support them to use digital devices that will assist all ages to participate in social, economic and civic life.

As with all Connect roles, this post will empower local people to progress on their personal journey by providing the support to learn new or develop existing skills/knowledge.

Supporting the Connecting Scotland and Connect’s digital inclusion strategy, this post will develop and support our Digital Champions throughout the organisation and local people within the community.

Community Wellbeing Co-ordinator

Connect Community Trust and FARE Scotland are established community powered organisations based in the east end of Glasgow. The successful partnership throughout Covid-19 has led to the creation of this new post and a drive to build a partnership approach to recovery that further supports local people.

Connect and FARE manage and operate community facilities around Greater Easterhouse and develop and deliver a broad range of educational, social, employment, training, sports activities and services, empowering people of all ages.

This newly created post will be key to the development and delivery of our joint Community Wellbeing initiative that aims to improve the overall wellbeing of local people through mindfulness, talking and alternative therapies.

The ideal candidate will be a passionate and experienced professional with the ability to create and maintain positive relationships and support people to set and achieve their goals and recognise their real potential. You will be responsible for developing, designing and delivering a mix of wellbeing focused 1:1 and group sessions to adults and young people which may include mindfulness and other techniques/therapies (dependent on skills/qualifications).

The post holder will split their time between both FARE Scotland and Connect Community Trust service users of all ages and in our own facilities and various outreach venues as required.
