We work in Kirkcaldy and across the region of Fife, often in partnership with other charities, public-sector organisations and social enterprises. We are looking for an experienced Development Worker (Community Engagement) to play a key role in the delivery of Greener Kirkcaldy’s organisational strategy.
The Development Worker (Community Engagement) will lead on the delivery of aspects of the Climate Action Fife project, which runs from 2022-2027 with support from the National Lottery Community Fund’s Climate Action Fund. Alongside this, they will be responsible for the delivery of additional Greener Kirkcaldy community engagement events.
The role involves developing and facilitating programmes of events and activities; recruiting, training and supporting volunteers; developing engagement and behaviour change campaigns along with our Communications Team; and working closely with other teams within Greener Kirkcaldy as well as local and regional partners.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Community Food Team to support our busy weekly programmes and activities.
The team are based at Greener Kirkcaldy, 8 East Fergus Place, Kirkcaldy. Our Lang Spoon Training Kitchen is where people come to take part in cookery courses and workshops. The Lang Toun Larder is our community food pantry, which collects and redistributes surplus food from businesses, keeping good food in circulation and reducing food waste.
We are looking for an experienced sessional worker to support the team to develop and deliver a range of community food activities, cooking classes, volunteer and training sessions and the community pantry. You will have a passion for connecting food and people from all backgrounds, a willingness to get stuck in and the ability to adapt to a busy work schedule.
Our busiest days are Wednesdays and Thursdays so you will need to be available on both those days as well other times to be agreed in advance, which may include some evening work. This role is funded until March 2022.

It is a social enterprise, with all profits invested in getting more people in Kirkcaldy cycling. The shop is part of a wider project to promote cycling in Kirkcaldy and help people reduce their car use.
We are looking for a Cycle Shop Assistant to play a key role in the operations of the Lang Toun Cycles shop. You will be part of a small team, including volunteers, taking on a customer service and admin role supporting sales and operations and ensuring the needs of customers are met.
You will be the first point of contact for anyone contacting the shop in person or by phone. You will coordinate the ebike library loan scheme and you will also be required to help run occasional events and workshops in the shop, and in community locations around Kirkcaldy.

We are looking for an expert Cycle Mechanic to play a key role in the operations of Lang Toun Cycles. You will join the current team, including volunteers, repairing and servicing cycles of all ages and types, upcycling donated bikes for sale, and ensuring all bike and accessory sales meet the needs of our customers.

Fife Communities Action Network (FCCAN) is a network of community groups in Fife that are taking action on climate change. Our aim is to empower and enable communities to create a low carbon future and promote local resilience and well-being.
We have an exciting opportunity to join a team delivering a new project, the Fife Climate Hub, funded by the Scottish Government.
The Scottish Government is building a network of regional community climate action hubs. These will provide a strategic regional approach to climate change action. The network of regional hubs will support communities to take action and will drive wider behaviour change.
Fife Communities Climate Action Network has been funded to develop and run a climate action hub for Fife. Our vision is for a regional hub supporting Fife communities to take practical local action on the climate emergency. The hub will provide advice and support, promote collaboration across communities and sectors and enable learning.
Climate action needs to be everyone’s business. We will reach beyond the people and communities who are already engaged in climate action and engage with people and groups at all stages of their journey. We will raise awareness of climate change, highlight positive examples and inspire action. We will work with a wide range of people and groups to reach different audiences including youth groups, sports clubs, faith groups, equalities groups, community halls, arts groups and community councils.
We have been awarded funding for a 12-month pilot project to map current community climate action taking place across the region, assess current and future support needs and develop an active supportive network, with a view to creating the necessary resources and services to support existing community climate action and help develop further action. As part of this process, the Fife Hub will build collaborative relationships with existing local, regional and national organisations and networks.
We’re looking for a team of passionate, enthusiastic people to lead the project. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the support given to community climate action within Scotland by developing a model of localised ‘grassroots’ collaborative support.
The Senior Project Officer will support the Project Manager to ensure the Hub and its aim, objectives and outcomes are delivered on time, within scope and budget. This includes helping to develop an action plan, guiding principles and a process for monitoring and reviewing the success of the pilot after its launch. There is an opportunity to join our team in the role of Development Worker (Cycling Outreach). Reporting to the Community Engagement Team Manager, you will support the delivery of Greener Kirkcaldy’s cycling behaviour change activities and the Climate Friendly Travel (cycling) activity strand of work across Fife.
We are looking for a person with a proven experience of delivering practical cycling activities and a passion for engaging communities in active travel. Experience working with volunteers is essential. And we want you to be committed to inclusion and to reaching out to people who experience barriers to participation in walking and cycling activities.
You will have excellent organisational skills, the ability to work with a range of people, work well in a team and use your own initiative too. You will have good knowledge of the climate emergency and sustainable transport and be enthusiastic about engaging people in carbon reduction.
Hours of work: full-time or 28 hours per week (0.8 full-time equivalent).

Our team of 40 staff and 100 volunteers deliver a wide range of grant-funded projects and social enterprise (income-generating) activities, including the Lang Toun Cycles Community Bike Shop and The Lang Spoon Community Kitchen. We work in Kirkcaldy and across the region of Fife, often in partnership with other charities, public-sector organisations and social enterprises. Our work is diverse and includes programmes of action on climate change, fuel poverty and food insecurity, encouraging individuals, households, community groups and businesses to make Fife a greener and fairer place to live.
We are looking for an experienced Development Manager to play a key role in the delivery of Greener Kirkcaldy’s organisational strategy.
The Development Manager will coordinate funding, fundraising and social enterprise development across the organisation. They will also lead a team to coordinate communications and development services across Greener Kirkcaldy’s projects and teams, including building internal capacity to support a more enterprising culture.
Hours of work: full time (35 hours per week) or 28 hours per week (0.8 full-time equivalent). We would consider requests to work fewer hours.
