Tiphereth Day Service has an exciting and rare opportunity for a Team Leader who will lead, organise and manage the Garden group within the day service. The post holder will provide direct support to adults with learning disabilities and autism in the garden group, and will also lead and manage the staff team.
The work of the Garden Group is to maintain and cultivate an aesthetically pleasing garden through weeding, mowing, sowing; to grow vegetables, flowers and plants for use in Tiphereth and for the summer fair; and to be responsible for the local Green waste collection which is used to produce our compost.
We are looking for someone with relevant care and support experience, ideally with prior leadership experience, and knowledge and enthusiasm for horticultural work.
At Tiphereth we currently have an exciting opportunity for a Day Service Co-Worker in our outdoor land, estates and community gardening group, the Peregrine Group.
You will provide support and motivation to people with learning disabilities to participate in meaningful work on the land, in community gardening and estates maintenance. You will be enthusiastic and positive about the potential of people to participate, learn and grow. You will bring experience of support work and knowledge of land based work such as gardening or conservation. You need to work well as part of a team, have good communication skills and be motivated by Camphill’s values and ethos. A full driving licence including willingness to drive a minibus is an essential requirement.
The Peregrine Group works in partnership with other social organisations, helping to make a difference by contributing their skills and time for social good and the benefit of others. Tiphereth is a Camphill community in Edinburgh based around supported accommodation, social enterprises and day services for adults with learning disabilities and other support needs.

Our day service is currently recruiting staff to support adults with learning disabilities and autism to participate in our creative day service. We are looking for people who have the skills and motivation required to work in one of our work groups areas with skills in woodwork, land work, crafts.
Working in a person-centred way, Co-Workers support adults with learning disabilities to develop practical and social skills in different work environments. The focus of the role is on realising the potential skills of each individual, whilst making the work enjoyable for our members.We also support our members to work in our social enterprise producing and delivering compost and firewood.

In return you can expect a competitive salary starting at £18339.75 per annum (subject to pay review April 2020) and a generous 36 days paid leave.
Tiphereth, is a unique charity in the Colinton area of Edinburgh. We are a Camphill Community consisting of residential care, social enterprises and a growing day service.
All post holders will be required to join the PVG scheme and register with the SSSC within the first six months of employment. Ideally candidates will have previous work experience in a similar setting and hold a professional qualification at SCQF level 6.
