C-Change was founded in 2001 and having always championed Self-Directed Support, the organisation provides outcome focused personalised support that is creative and flexible, adapting to the changing needs of the individual. C-Change supports people that have learning disabilities, mental health issues and other additional support needs to have real positive change in their lives regardless of their age or circumstances. Our work is based on a Human Rights Approach, empowering people to live their life to its fullest potential whilst being active citizens within their community.

Dates-n-mates is Scotland’s national dating and friendship agency for adults with learning disabilities. We are now seeking a versatile and friendly person to join our team and help local adults overcome loneliness and isolation. It’s an interesting and rewarding role!

You’ll be forging links with the local community, planning and delivering our events programme and supporting members and volunteers to participate.

Support Advisor (Social Care Leader) in Blantyre

The Brief: You will manage a service that supports a young Autistic man called David. To do this you will stand alongside him to understand and amplify his voice. You will be part of the rota, fully involved in his day-to-day support. You will work alongside the Personal Development Workers, encouraging and supporting their best practice. You will provide support and development to the Team and fulfil the administrative tasks to support high quality service to David.

About you: You will be skilled in working with Autistic people, doing what it takes to build relationship and create an environment that enables David to flourish. Managing services that have been described as complex will be one of your skills as will team working and the ability to work autonomously. You will relish a challenge and will have stories to tell of challenges, successes and learning from your previous experiences.

Your Skills: You will be skilled in inspiring staff, bringing out the best in them and supporting them to understand and support David’s aspirations. It is essential that you can demonstrate effective communication skills, relationship building and multi-disciplinary partnership working skills. You will be able to plan and prioritise your work load and will have strong IT skills.
