EXPERIENCE /QUALIFICATIONS: prospective candidates should be educated to a minimum HNC level in Working with Communities or related faculty or have a minimum of three years’ experience of youth work at a supervisory level.
Granton Youth is looking for a youth worker with a high level of experience of delivering detached youth work. This post will be a job share to manage a small team to deliver 3-4 sessions of detached youth work weekly in North Edinburgh. Engagements focus on harm reduction around alcohol, substance use and risk-taking behaviour.
You will be responsible for line-managing a small team and project monitoring and evaluation. 18+ hours per week (3 or 4 streetwork sessions plus development time). Funding for 1 year contract, which may be extended.
EXPERIENCE /QUALIFICATIONS: No qualifications are required although experience of detached youth would be an advantage.
PURPOSE OF JOB: This post will involve working in a small team to deliver 3-4 sessions of detached youth work weekly in North Edinburgh. Engaging with young people in the street can be challenging and requires a confident and outgoing personality so a reasonable level of youth work experience would be preferred All training will be provided. Other centre-based youth work sessional hours may be available.
You will be responsible to the line manager.

PURPOSE OF JOB: This post is for a youth worker for Granton Youth’s GoLone Parents Programme. The post holder will support the team leader and to work with lone parents parents aged 15-26. A three x weekly programme will address identified issues from participants to support an improvement in their life, social, practical, emotional and family skills. The aim of this project is to address particular needs and support the parents so they are able to engage in their community and reduce isolation and improve their future opportunities. The post holder should be confident and able to connect with people at a variety of levels; 1-2-1 and group work.
