Angus Women’s Aid (AWA) has an exciting opportunity for people to join our court advocacy team. We are looking for individuals who have a genuine interest in working with women, children and young people who are victims of domestic abuse, and are passionate about making a difference. Full training will be provided.
To provide a sensitive, pro-active short to medium-term domestic abuse advocacy, support, and information service to victims/survivors of domestic abuse who are referred to ADACS, focussing on those most at risk. This will be done by telephone and face to face as required. To work with clients at high or medium risk or who have a case proceeding to court.

Role
To be the first point of contact for Advocacy Workers and Children and Young Person Advocacy Workers in the provision of proactive, short to medium term service in a multi-agency framework, to victims/survivors of domestic abuse where contact is primarily by telephone; To do an initial review of all MIA Service client intake to identify and focus on those most at risk; To work with clients at high or medium risk or who have a case proceeding to court.

Job Purpose
To provide the highest possible standard of support to children and young people who have experienced domestic abuse. Carry out all work to the highest possible standards in accordance with professional ethics, Angus Women’s Aid (AWA) policies and procedures, National Care Standards and other relevant legislation.
