We care for people with illnesses that cannot be cured including cancer, lung, heart or kidney failure and a range of non-malignant and neurological diseases. We are also actively involved in research and education in palliative care and we promote and influence the delivery of palliative care locally and beyond.

Strathcarron Hospice is an independent hospice, founded in 1981, and is one of the largest palliative in-patient units in Scotland. It is located in the Scottish Central Belt, serving a population of nearly 400,000 in both urban and rural settings across NHS Forth Valley and the Cumbernauld and Kilsyth areas of NHS North Lanarkshire.

We have an exciting new position for a Communications Manager at Strathcarron Hospice. In this role you will develop communications and branding across all of the Hospice and our Subsidiaries.

You will be an enthusiastic, team player with experience of leading successful communications using a mix of traditional and digital marketing and PR activities. You will have a proven track record in communications with the ability to raise the profile of the Hospice and improve the public’s understanding of what we do.

Essentially for this role you will require strong planning and organisational skills, including the ability to work under own your initiative and balance competing demands.

You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

You can confidently engage with range of people, including a proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
