Equalities Manager

Thank you for your interest in the post of Equalities Manager with Historic Environment Scotland, based at Longmore House. This is a permanent and pensionable appointment. Historic Environment Scotland (HES) published its Mainstreaming and 2021-25 Equalities Outcomes Report in April 2021 and we are committed to promoting equalities, diversity and inclusion in all that we do. Based in the Development and Partnerships Directorate, this post will play a vital role in helping HES successfully achieve its equalities outcomes by coordinating and supporting the delivery of HES’s annual Equalities Action Plans, monitoring and reporting on progress, providing advice, guidance and support to staff, and working with external partners.

About us

We are the lead body for Scotland’s historic environment; a charity dedicated to the advancement of heritage, culture, education and environmental protection. We’re at the forefront of researching and understanding the historic environment and addressing the impact of climate change on its future. We investigate and record architectural and archaeological sites and landscapes across Scotland and care for more than 300 properties of national importance. We have a People Strategy, which is an overarching strategy to ensure we support and develop staff within the organisation.

Thank you for your interest in the post of Fundraising Development Manager with Historic Environment Scotland, based out of any HES offices, located across Scotland. This is a permanent and pensionable appointment.

This is a new post and is pivotal in providing leadership, development and co-ordination of the approach to fundraising across HES.

Our Fundraising Development Manager needs to be able to make the connections between the causes that matter to our supporters, with our priorities and those of the sector and match these to fundraising opportunities; providing support and guidance to deliver successful outcomes.

We need someone who is collaborative in their approach to build our capacity and confidence in fundraising and enable income growth and diversification.

We care for more than 300 properties of national importance and are the largest operator of visitor attractions in Scotland. We look after internationally significant archives and artefacts, carry out research and provide advice, support, regulation and funding to protect, conserve and manage Scotland’s heritage. We are passionate about developing skills and learning.
