Our mission is to provide young people aged 11 - 25 with relevant, trusted and meaningful information and opportunities to help them make the most of their lives. We have over half a million Young Scot cardholders and communicate with our audience through a variety of dynamic channels – digital platforms, social media, marketing collateral, magazines and youth engagement.

Our Digital Project Assistant (Gaelic) will support the Project Officer to enhance Young Scot’s digital information and social media services through the development of video, audio and social media information content in English and Scottish Gaelic. Your work will help to ensure that young people across Scotland have access to the best, accurate, most relevant and timely information they need to make informed decisions and fulfil their potential.

You will work alongside colleagues in the digital information team and together will create and optimise content for a range of channels, including young.scot, TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Snapchat and Facebook.

Development Assistant - Insights

The role

Our Development Assistant - Insights will support our Insight & Intelligence Officer to deliver the Young Scot data and insight service. You will identify and collect relevant data to support all Directorates in Young Scot. You will support the production of insight reports (internally and externally), data dashboards and support evidence of impact via data narratives/impact stories. This will allow us to develop more relevant and responsive services for young people across Scotland.

What you’ll be doing from day-to-day

  • Working with teams across the organisation to identify key data, insight and intelligence to be gathered
  • Maintaining and updating datasets on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis
  • Collecting, cleaning and processing data for reporting
  • Preparing data for use in reports (Word, Excel and Tableau)
  • Producing regular reports for internal staff teams
  • Producing regular reports for external stakeholders and partners, including local authority partners
  • Providing administrative support to the Data Advisory Group
  • Other duties to support the Insight & Intelligence Officer

A great candidate will have a mix of these skills and experiences:

  • Excellent organisational skills, including ability to manage multiple tasks and achieve deadlines
  • Good attention to detail
  • Able to work well as part of a team but is also able to lead on own initiative
  • Has experience of using Microsoft Office programmes, including Teams, Word and PowerPoint
  • Experience of using basic formulas in Excel for data management
