Then you may be an ideal candidate for the role of Trustee with Visualise Scotland.

We are looking for passionate, committed individuals to volunteer to join our board. Responsible for guiding the organisation’s strategy and development, you will be actively involved in ensuring the organisation is legally compliant and financially sustainable, particularly through using your professional experience to assist the organisation in securing additional funding.

Awareness or experience of social care would be an advantage but is not a requirement.

The role involves a commitment of around 4-6 hours per month, which will include 6 formal meetings per year, our AGM, preparing for Board Meetings, ad-hoc meetings as required, and membership of a working group.

We are committed to having an inclusive and diverse board and welcome applications from a range of backgrounds. Groups currently under-represented on our board include those with lived experience of disability and people from Black, Asian and other ethnic minority background.

Organisational Information

Visualise Scotland is a charity which provides support to adults with multiple disabilities in Edinburgh and the Lothians. Building on our origins as an activity group for young people with visual impairment, we have expanded our services and now provide day and housing support to adults with a variety of additional support needs. We deliver residential services across Edinburgh, and from our hub in Musselburgh we offer opportunities for people to access the community.

We are a relatively small organisation with a team of about 80 staff supporting 20 individuals. Our services are funded almost exclusively by local government.

Team Leader

Visualise Scotland provides Housing Support, Care at Home and Day Service support to adults living with disabilities across Edinburgh and the Lothians. We are looking to hire a Team Leader who shares our values and our passion for providing excellent management of support services.

You will be responsible for ensuring that support workers are effectively guided to ensure that people who use our services are provided with high-quality person-centred support. You will manage a minimum of 2 services and line manage 2 senior support workers, building their capacity to manage support workers You will also share in the management of support workers as required.

We are looking for someone with the confidence to contribute to organisational strategy and grow services, while ensuring that the people we support remain at the heart of what we do and that staff are encouraged to grow and develop, creating a positive work environment.

In exchange for your motivation, commitment and care, we pay £27,500 per annum and provide excellent training and development opportunities.

Senior Support Worker

Are you looking to make that step up the ladder in social care? Visualise Scotland, an Edinburgh and East Lothian based organisation, are recruiting for Senior Support Workers to join our Housing Support services. We are looking for committed, determined people who are caring and passionate in what they do. If you have an SVQ 2/3 or an HNC (or equivalent) in Health & Social Care and at least two years’ experience supporting profoundly disabled people, this could be the job for you.

In exchange for your motivation, commitment and care, we pay £25,000 per annum and provide excellent training and development opportunities.

We are seeking people with inclusive and caring values, to support amazing people who may have a sensory, learning or physical disability to lead fulfilling and rewarding lives. You would be working with our service management team to ensure that people who use our services are provided with the highest quality of care. You will be based in one service and you will be line managed by a team leader. This role also involves on-call responsibilities.

If so, Visualise Scotland are currently looking to recruit committed and passionate individuals for Support Worker positions. With posts available in our Housing Support Services, you would be supporting amazing people who may have a sensory, learning or physical disability to lead fulfilling and rewarding lives.

Good interpersonal skills and a willingness to learn are essential. Experience of working with people with disabilities is desirable but not essential as full training and support will be provided.

In exchange for your motivation and commitment, we pay £9.81-£10.85 per hour (dependent on qualification level) and provide excellent training and development opportunities.
