We are seeking an Assistant Fundraiser to help support the fundraising team to expand and diversify our income streams to ensure our organisations is sustainable into the future.

The role will include taking a lead on our digital communications strategy as well as preparing trust fund applications, identifying and building trusted relationships with corporate partners, promoting individual giving, community fundraising and helping supporters to fundraise.

We are seeking an Outdoor Youth Worker, who identifies with our values of Trust, Respect, Diversity, Inclusion, Environment and Personal Development, to deliver our outdoors based, long term Journey programme. This includes delivering outdoor activities and residentials and providing in depth social and emotional learning opportunities for individuals and groups.

The job will also involve reviewing our programme with young people, evaluation, supporting and developing volunteers, managing logistics and ensuring the highest standards of safety.

There will be opportunities to go on Outdoor activities with our Outdoor Programme Leaders and attend activity training for your own personal development. You will also assist the Delivery teams in day to day administration tasks, such as keeping the drying room clean and tidy, cleaning, storing, maintaining and repairing activity equipment. The job will also involve ordering food, updating notice boards. You will be based in Edinburgh but this role will include assisting the Glasgow Delivery team, too (your travel to Glasgow will be reimbursed).

Outdoor Programme Leader (Female*) - Glasgow

Venture Scotland provides a unique long-term outdoor-based programme of support and progressive development for young people and helps each individual to make profound, positive and lasting changes in their lives. We are supported by a large team of volunteers, from all walks of life, who have a passion for the outdoors and helping others.

You will be supported to lead on delivering stages of the Venture Scotland Journey, a series of 4 progressive programmes, by using the challenge of outdoor activities and residentials to provide in-depth and structured social and emotional learning opportunities for individuals and groups. You will also be required to support other team members to deliver the programme and to deliver presentations, ice breakers and outdoor activities to external groups.

The job frequently involves

Working together with others as part of multi-disciplinary team.

Making on-the spot decisions and managing the challenging behaviour of groups and individuals, sometimes in remote environments and challenging weather and conditions.

Residential overnight work. This will normally be scheduled in advance and will be compensated for by time off in lieu. The job also involves exposure to high places, the elements and bodies of deep water and the management of risk in these environments.

Continuously monitoring, reviewing and improving all aspects of your work to achieve the best possible outcomes for young people and to establish a compelling evidence base to prove the impact of VS to young people, volunteers, staff, the Board and all external audiences.

Promoting the benefits of VS programmes and activities to potential participants, their parents or carers and referrers.

Preparing reports, keeping detailed records and carrying out all relevant administration as required.
